I once went on a date with Madonna.
We went to the Church
and prayed for the apocalypse to come sooner
because we were really bored.
We thought it would be nice way to spend the Sunday afternoon that droned on and on and on
on the other side of the flint-glass windows.
We were baptized and christened
Mary Magdalene and Elizabeth.
Lucifer came over and made us a drink
with the communion bread and holy water
toasted to our healths and good humor.

She took me to a restaurant next.
We had sandwiches and coke
and I spilled half of it on my dress.
We tap-danced to old Disney songs
half-recalled from a postmodern childhood
of memories from the void before the war.

I tried write about it in my diary, afterwards.
But all I could remember was that she kept
calling me Marie Antoinette
and my name was Julie.
