I walked into the elevator, dressed in my best business attire, a red blouse with a black blazer and dress pants. I had worn dress shoes, even though they weren't all that comfortable, but I wanted to be dressed to the nines. I was told to report immediately to the Director of NCIS and I shook with anticipation. I was about to start a brand new job.

Three months ago I had gotten the call from Director Shepard that I was offered a position here at NCIS. I was supposed to start the next week as a Field Agent, but apparently my Boss was in the hospital and I would be starting when he returned to work. I waited every day for a call, but nothing came for three months. And now, today was my first day.

"Naomi," Director Shepard said to me as the elevator doors slid open. "I'm glad that you're finally starting with us here. Sorry for the delay in getting you started."

"It's not a problem Director. I'm just glad to be starting." I flashed a sympathetic smile at her and she nodded back at me.

"Now, lets get you to meet your team. They're very excited to be meeting you. I should warn you that they can be a bit much sometimes, but I'm sure you'll fit right in with them." She motioned for me to follow her towards a staircase. Before descending, she handed me a gun and a badge. "These are yours." I thanked her as we walked down the stairs and I put the holster of the gun on the right side of my pants and the badge on the left.

We rounded the corner and entered a small office setup where four people sat behind desks, looking at monitors. There was a beautiful woman sitting to my left with curly brown hair and tan skin. To my right was an attractive male with a kind face and dark hair. Next to him was a chunkier male with his dirty blond hair slicked back. Across from him was an older gentleman with straight grey hair. To me, they all looked familiar but there was no way I would've met them before.

The Director coughed and immediately everyone looked up. "This is your team, Naomi. I'll let you get acquainted." She gave my shoulder a squeeze as she left.

"Ziva David," the woman stood up and extended her hand to me. She had an Israeli accent.

"Naomi Cahn. Not to be rude, but are you Israeli?" I shook her hand and smiled.

She looked taken aback. "Yes I am. Why do you ask?"

"Your accent. I'm also Israeli; my parents were in the Israeli army when they were younger."

"I was a Mossad officer before I came to NCIS." She smiled brightly.

"That's really cool." I would've said more, but the three men had come up to me and were waiting for me to acknowledge them.

"I'm Timothy McGee." The guy with the slicked back hair stuck his hand out for me.

"Nice to meet you." I smiled, shaking his hand.

"I'm very Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo." The cute guy flashed me an award winning smile and didn't offer his hand to me. I had heard that name before but I wasn't sure where I'd heard it. Maybe it was a common name.

The older gentleman smacked Anthony on the back of the head. "Not now Dinozzo. I'm Gibbs, your Boss." He shook my hand roughly and I swallowed the lump in my throat. This man looked extremely familiar to me and it really bugged me. I hated not knowing where I knew someone from.

"Thank you for accepting me as part of your team sir." I smiled shyly.

"Wasn't my choice." With that, he sat back down at his desk, leaving me to wonder how I knew him.

Seeing as there were only four desks in the area, I just stood in the center very awkwardly waiting for someone to tell me where to go. It didn't seem like Gibbs was going to be any help to me so I turned to Ziva.

"Where should I sit?" I said quietly, walking over to her.

"You can sit with me," Anthony said flirtatiously. He had retrieved a chair from some other office I presumed and sat it right next to his.

I shrugged. "Thanks Anthony."

"Please," he said as I sat down, "call me Tony." I nodded at him, not sure of what to do or say. I was never good at meeting people. "So tell me about yourself Naomi."

I racked my brain for something interesting to say. "Um I graduated from MIT with a degree in Chemistry and Computer Forensics. I've been an EMT for about seven years, since I was nineteen. And that's about it, nothing super interesting."

"You went to MIT? I did too," Timothy said with a smile. "What year did you graduate?"

"98, you?" I smiled, happy to know there was someone else who was tech savvy like I was.

"98 as well. You look oddly familiar so maybe we crossed paths in classes."

"Yeah, maybe." I turned back to Tony. "Tell me about yourself."

"I went to Ohio State and was in a fraternity, Alpha Chi Delta. And I worked with Baltimore PD for a few years and then came here. I'm the senior field agent on the team."

"Very cool. My partner was in Alpha Chi Delta at Ohio state. Maybe you know him. Jon Foster?"

"He's my grand little! That's so funny that you know him. So he's like your boyfriend?"

I laughed. "Oh no no, nothing like that. He's my partner at American, the ambulatory company I worked for."

"Oh, okay. That's pretty cool."

"Naomi did you ever live in Israel?" Ziva asked me, glaring at Tony.

"No, I wish. I went to visit family a few times in Tel Aviv, but never stayed for more than a couple weeks at a time. Have you?" I was so happy that there was another Israeli on the team.

"I did for a long time. It's beautiful and I try to go back every couple of years just to visit some old friends. It's nice to have another Israeli here." She smiled at me.

"I agree. It feels kind of like home."

"Agreed. I feel as though we've met before, but I can't place it."

"I was thinking the same thing. You all look so familiar but I can't think of how I'd have met any of you." It was really annoying me that I couldn't place their faces.

"Did you ever come here as an EMT?" Timothy asked me.

I shook my head. "No, I don't think so."

"Washington Hospital," Tony said suddenly. He looked at Gibbs. "You saved his life."

I looked hard at Gibbs. Then it clicked. He was the shock patient I brought in those months back. I'd seen him unresponsive on my stretcher and I met those three outside the hospital room.

"Thank you," Gibbs said suddenly, "for saving my life. I've been wanting to know who to thank."

I nodded in his direction. "I'm glad to know you're okay. Glad to know I could help." Legally, I couldn't say much more about that day. We aren't even supposed to acknowledge former patients if we see them in public because of the HIPAA laws.

I went to say something to Tony, but Gibbs got to it before I did. "Gear up; we've got a dead marine."
