First Day of School

The blaring alarm on my bedside table woke me from my slumber. I swiftly pulled the covers away from my body and got up from the comfort of my sheets. I went out into the kitchen to make my morning ice coffee. While waiting, I cracked opened the door to the girls' room to see them still sleeping peacefully. Brynlee was cuddling up with her stuffed lamb, and Keegan had her little pink blanket gripped in her hands.

After I took a few sips of my freshly made coffee, I brought it with me to my closet. I picked out my outfit for the day, a white blouse tucked into neutral pink pants and nude heels.

Laying their outfits on the ends of the beds, I slowly woke them up and got them in the bathroom to brush their teeth. As they did that, I started on their waffles and my omelette.

"Mommy!" Brynlee cried out from the bathroom. I rushed to the bathroom to see Brynlee on the floor crying while Keegan was trying to help her.

"What happened?"

"She fell off the stwep stool," Keegan responded unable to pronounce step stool.

"You're fine," I reassured Bryn as I pulled her into my arms. Keegan finished brushing her teeth as I carried Bryn out to the kitchen. "Does anything hurt?"

She shook her head with tears still in her eyes. I began placing small kisses all around her face as giggles filled the room. I then placed my now happy girl in her chair and placed the freshly made waffle in front of her. Soon, Keegan came out wanting her waffle too. We sat down to eat, and the girls only ended up dropping one piece on the floor. After they finished, they ran to their rooms to get dressed.

As I rinsed the dishes off, both girls came out with the clothes I laid out on. I dried my hands and straightened out their shirts before getting the brush to do their hair. They jumped onto the couch as I got what I needed from the bathroom. I pulled their hair into little buns on top of their head strapped their sandals on before we left.
