Chapter-23

Rose's POV

"JAKE?" I whisper not believing my eyes.

His hands were Injured and blood was oozing out from one of his hands. There were few scratches on his face which looked dried and some new wounds were forming their own way on his forehead.

"There's no time for this Rose. We have to leave."

"But how come you are here?" I ask.

"The day you got kidnapped I saw you and followed you here. But my bad luck before I could do anything she hit my head so hard that I fell down unconscious."

I simply stood still. My mind totally blank.

"Rose. I never thought she was the one behind all these. She is totally nuts. Thank god she didn't kill me. At least I could get out of here alive with these minor injuries."

"Minor?" I questioned.

"Comparing to getting killed the way she normally does I think this is far more better. I had to put up an act as if I was unconscious and finally now I am here. Now she would regret not tying me up." He laughed.

I too would have laughed seeing how cool he seemed but this was not the correct time.

I always thought he was the silent type as he never spoke much. But now I think I was wrong.

"Let's just get out of here. I think there are many other's in danger now."

He was right but still I was curious about something which I decided to ask.

"I still wonder why she didn't kill you."

"Yup. Me too but She kept on saying how she would kill us both at a same time as it would entertain her watching two people killed at a same time."

Gross! that's enough.

"Oh god! Let's just get out."

"Fine"

We walk out of the house and I feel as if I got my life back but I know it's not the end.

We were about to leave when a voice stops me. I slowly turn around when someone pounces on me and I land on my back.

I scream and kick and then someone slowly lifts the weight off me.

The moment I see the figure it was my turn to jump on her.

"Nino." I exclaim.

"Oh girl. You nearly got me killed." She mutters.

"I should say that." I mimic.

"Girls. It's not the time for reunion." Says someone. I turn to see a boy standing near Jake with a serious expression.

"He is right." Joins Jake and we all move into a little safer place as we don't know when she will be back.

"First tell me how you guys got here." I ask.

Then Nino begins on with her story and finishes with.
"..and then due to heavy rain the roads were blocked. I asked my uncle to which he simply replied we have to wait for 2 to 3 hours so that the route maybe cleared. So, finally we had an argument and then he let me go with Nick. So, here we are after wandering In forests for nearly 1hour."

"Guys what's the problem with my phone? There's no signal here. How will I inform my dad? "

"It's due to the rain." Jake says.

We all simply nod and make our way to the house where everyone is.

Suddenly an another question raises in my mind as I stop in my tracks.

"Wait. What if we loose her?
It's already evening and usually she will return at this time and if she finds out that we are missing then I am sure she will escape from here easily."

Everyone thinks for a moment when Nick Speaks

"But what can we do? Do you want to risk your life by going back there?"

"Exactly. I am going back there and in mean time you could help the others then come for my rescue. I am sure she will have no clue on what's happening." I say.

"Noway." Shouts Nino.

"But she is right." Joins Jake.

After arguing and wasting our timing in arguing they all agree to my plan.

Now I just hope at least this plan works out or else I am so dead.

After that Nino and Nick Make their way towards the house whereas we start walking the way we came here.

Jake remained silent till the entire walk. Once we spotted the house my heart was running a marathon. I kept on saying we can do this. But can we?

Jake tied my hands but a little loose so that if needed I can act like a ninja for my self defense. Not funny!

"OK Rose be safe. Remember I am here. Nothing will happen just stay confident."

I nodded but deep inside I knew that he was also as afraid as I was now. But he didn't show it.

"I will try fixing the doors lock. Don't worry it was not locked when I came in just the lock was left hanging in the slot. So, that must not be a problem." He assured me and then walked out watching me a last time.

I just hope it's not the last time.

After sometime I heard his footsteps leaving in the other direction.

The moment the sound of his footsteps faded I realized it was the stupidest and the craziest thing I have ever done.

But now it was too late to back off. So, all I had to do was wait for her to enlighten me with her gracious presence.

The biggest mistake of my life was the day I met her and how we became friends instantly. I should have given it a thought. But everything seemed perfectly fine. Who would have known someone as fragile as her could stoop to this level.

At least after coming here I should have considered my doubts on her but now its too late. I never thought that I could get kidnapped so easily following her.

I should have never followed her and that too alone knowing she may be the one. But I wasn't sure either. Now it is going to cost my life.

God! Just save us all. The only thing I can do now is Pray! and I slowly close my eyes waiting for all these to end soon with one thought in my mind.

"Riya, you are going to pay for your sins."
