"I'm home!" Shawn sings, closing the front door behind him. I smile to myself, glad that I have company that's not just the tv again. "Hi, sweetheart." He stoops down to where I'm lying on the couch and kisses me on the forehead. He pulls my hands so I sit up and then carefully slides in behind me, his legs on either side of mine and my back against his warm chest.
"How was today?" I ask as I settle against him.
"Really good. I think the album is almost ready to be released!" He says excitedly.
"That's amazing! I can't wait to hear all those songs you kept from me," I tease, turning around and grinning at him.
He laughs. "You'll hear them sooner than you think." He winks.
I turn around again, smiling to myself. "I hope so."

"Anyway, you feeling okay? Did anything happen today?" He asks, smoothing my hair back from my face.
"Nothing happened. My back's killing me though, but apart from that I'm good," I reply. "I can't wait until the baby's born and I can finally move around again." I chuckle to myself.
"Me too," Shawn agrees, placing his large hand on my bump. "Not long now. Hey! He's kicking right where my hand is!" He exclaims happily, kissing my head again. "It's a pretty cool trick, little man. But you should stop now before you hurt your poor mama more." His fingers draw lazy circles on my stomach as he talks to the baby.
"Still sure it's a boy then?" I grin, placing my hand on Shawn's and intertwining our fingers.
"Yep. I have a very strong feeling. And I haven't been wrong about anything before have I?"
"Well, there was that one time-"
"Shut up!"

***Two months later***

"I still can't believe he's ours," I say quietly, watching the baby lying in my arms gently suck on the bottle of milk I hold in my hand. Even though it's been a month, my milk still hasn't come in, so I have to bottle-feed. I'd give anything to be able to breastfeed and I was heartbroken at first, but now I'm just happy that my baby's healthy.
"I know what you mean. He's perfect," Shawn says, gazing adoringly at him. "Little baby Louis." He gently grazes his fingers over and back on the baby's feet, his other arm wrapped securely around me.

Once Louis is finished, Shawn gently scoops him out of my arms and kisses him on the forehead, holding him close.
"Sing to us, pleaseeeee," I beg, doing my best puppy dog eyes.
"If you insist," Shawn smiles, resting his hand on my leg briefly. I lay my head on his shoulder, closing my heavy eyes when I hear him sing the first few lines of 'Never Be Alone'.

"And take a piece of my heart
And make it all your own
So when we are apart
You'll never be alone
You'll never be alone," Shawn sings softly, kissing Louis on the head once again when he finishes.
I open my eyes drowsily and look up to see Shawn already looking at me. "What?" I blush.
"I love you."
"And I love you. Louis couldn't have gotten a better dad," I smile, softly pressing my lips to his.
"Or mother." He adds. "I guess he got pretty lucky, eh?"
I nod, laughing quietly. "I think it's time we get this one to bed," I whisper, nodding at Louis, who's eyes were already closed.
Shawn nods and together we carefully wrap him in his blanket and lay him down in his cot next to our bed.

We stand there for a few minutes just looking down at our baby. Shawn wraps his arms around my waist from behind and rests his chin on top of my head, allowing me to melt into him once again.
"You okay?" He mumbles into my hair after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
I nod. "I am.  Are you?"
"I'm perfect. Absolutely perfect."
