A/N: this is an unplanned part 2 to 'camping' so I'd suggest reading that before you read this :-)

***Shawn's POV***

"I never thought I'd be so glad to be going home," Y/N yawns, lugging her bag behind her and throwing it into the back of the car.
"Me too," I agree, mimicking her yawn and throwing my bag in after hers. It was just our luck that the one time we go camping, the weather turned on us. I watch Y/N as she rubs her tired eyes, her gorgeous hair wildly thrown into a bun. I feel a pang in my chest as I remember how tight she gripped me last night, terrified from the storm. I'm never bringing her camping again, even if we're meant to have the best weather to ever exist.

I walk over to the other side of the car where Brian is leaning on his side and flirting with Eliza, who's twirling a strand of hair around her finger and giggling. I know I wanted them to get together but I don't think I'll ever get used to hearing Eliza giggle. I never thought I'd miss the day when she stopped being mean.
"Ay, lovebirds! Are you going to help me take down the tents or what?" I shout, whacking Brian over the head playfully as I near them.
"Or what." Eliza rolls her eyes. "I'll leave you two big, strong men to it." She grins, patting me on the arm before dragging Y/N after her over to a bench.  Guess she's not as changed as I thought.
Y/N shrugs her shoulders at me, an apologetic look on her face. I smile, shaking my head slightly.
"Let's go, man," Brian slaps my shoulder lightly. "It looks like it's gonna rain again."

"We're back!" Brian and I shout in a sing-song voice, opening the car doors.
"Shhh!" Eliza glares at us from the front seat, pointing to Y/N in the back of the car. It's then that I notice my girlfriend curled up against the far window, her head resting on her closed fist as soft sighs escape her partially opened lips.
"Oops," Brian whispers sheepishly, climbing into the driver's seat beside Eliza.
I quickly grab a blanket from the shelf at the back window and buckle myself in beside Y/N, carefully moving her so her head is against my shoulder and not against the shuddering window as we start moving.

"Any song suggestions?" Eliza asks, connecting her phone to the car speaker. Just as I'm about to open my mouth she interrupts. "Didn't think so. Guess we'll just have to listen to what I like." She shrugs innocently as the album of some indie band starts playing. Brian, who once would have started fighting to turn it off, only looks over at her fondly and hums along to the song. I suppose I should be more understanding, I know how exciting and different a new relationship can be.

My thoughts are interrupted when I feel Y/N stir against me and look down, but thankfully she settles again after fixing her position. She looks so adorable when she's asleep, her face completely relaxed, a small smile playing on her lips.  It's as if nothing could hurt her. I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer, adjusting the blanket to cover her more as I do. I'm tempted to join her and just sleep the rest of the way home, but I refrain, wanting to know one thing before I do.

"So guys, anything you want to tell me?" I ask, innocently, turning my attention back to the two in the front. I watch Brian and Eliza exchange a quick look and smile to myself.
"No? Why would there be?" Brian asks, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing. It's a nervous laugh.
"No reason." I shrug. "I was just wondering where you were last night that's all."
"I was- I had to- Eliza thought she heard something and you and Y/N were sound asleep so I went to help."
"How noble of you." I roll my eyes. "I'm sure you appreciated it Eliza."
"Oh I did." She winks at Brian and he winks back. Why did I have to say that?
"Stop it before I throw up." I groan.
"Hey, we've put up with this between you and Y/N for long enough. It's our turn now." Eliza says, sticking her tongue out at me in the mirror.

I'm about to retort when I feel Y/N cuddle closer and wrap her arms together around my torso. "All of you, shut up. I'm trying to sleep here," she mumbles into my shoulder.
"Sorry," we automatically say together, knowing deep down that she'll be telling us the same thing in ten minutes. I kiss her forehead and bring my hand up to let her hair down from the bun, carefully smoothing out some of the knots with my fingers. She hums in content and I can feel her smile against my shoulder.

Within minutes Eliza and Brian have started whispering again and, after awhile of trying to follow what they're saying, I give up and sink further down into the seat, resting my head on top of Y/N's.
"Sleep tight, baby." I kiss her temple and close my eyes, finally succumbing to the tiredness from last night.

Hey guys! Yes, I'm aware this sucked. Sorry :-/ I'm hoping that with this break from school that I'll be able to get back into writing more and my writer's block will go away. You never know, stranger things have happened.

I know the world is a pretty scary place at the moment and everything can get very overwhelming at times, so look after yourselves and stay safe. Sometimes all you can do is blast some music and sing and dance until you physically can't anymore. Remember, I'm always here if you ever need to talk. We can get through this together.

Lots of love x
