These are just a couple things you probably didn't know about the beloved 1983 film "The Outsiders," it's actors and the making of the movie. These are some fun facts about the movie that was interesting to me and I thought I'd share with you. Enjoy...
WHILE DIANE LANE (CHERRY VALANCE) WAS SAYING HER LINE, "PONYBOY! I WASN'T TRYING TO GIVE YOU CHARITY!" C. THOMAS HOWELL WAS MAKING FACES AT HER OFF CAMERA TO SEE IF SHE WOULD LAUGH.
During the scene when Diane gets angry at Tommy when they meet each other for the second time, the camera was panned across Diane's face, and you could only see a little segment of Tommy's head, as he was facing her. What we didn't know, however, was that Tommy was making funny faces at Diane, trying to "test" her to see if she had the ability to stay in character and act angry at him. Apparently, she did, and she continued the scene as normal.
