Chapter 14

Allister Pov
"Keep spelling it." I tell Amora as I I hold her sagging body upright.
"Do you see jimmy and bill anywhere?" I ask Dante as Amora keeps spelling in the background.

"No, but it's only a 6 minute drive to the house, they would've gotten back by now." He responds and I nod

I look down at a Amora, as she spells Florida over and over with half closed eyes.
Her eye lids are covered in her blood, Her hair is tangled in knots, and her warm skin is now pale as a ghost.

How could I leave her? She's The one thing I want to keep alive, and I left her in a dentist office full of zombies.

I grab a hair tie off her wrist and sloppily tie her hair back.
I use the sleeve of my uniform jacket to wipe the blood away from her face.
I look down at her stomach and slightly peel away the gauze that is soaked in her blood, underneath I find a slice on her abdomen that has been sewn up.
I place the gauze back into place.
"Did you do this." I point down to the wound and interrupt her spelling.
"Mmmhh."she groans out a yes

"How did you do this." I ask and hold her face up even firmer

"I was in medical school for 2 and a half years, remember?" She sticks out 4 fingers and slugs over again and I lift her back into place.
We reach Mabels house and Dante stops the car
I climb out with Amora in my arms and race up to the door
I Wildly bang on the door.
"SOMEONE OPEN UP PLEASE!" I plead out when the door opens.
I look down to see kat.

"Oh no! What happened to her?" She asks and moves aside to let me in,
"Can you go get Jenny, please?" I say as I run through the foyer and up the stairs into our room.
I grab some towel off the bed and Lie them on top of the mattress before placing her on top them.
Jenny comes rushing in as I walk to the bathroom wetting a wash cloth and bring it over to wipe her body of the blood.
"What happened?" She asks
"I was hiding from a zombie and accidentally sliced my stomach open in a glass table, but I took care of it- I just lost soooo much blood." She mumbles and trips over her words
Jenny turns around to see Dante coming with the medicine.
She take them out of his hands and takes a seat next to Amora
She removes the gauze and checks the suture out before cleaning them off and wrapping them up with clean gauze.
She Picks the lunch box up and reads each pills label before opening one and placing it into Amoras mouth, and she swallows.
"She stitched herself up pretty good, we just need to worry about infections and bleeding, but she should be fine now since she has gotten medicine." She say and stands up with the lunch box in her hands
"Now on to Mark, Dante follow me." She says and grabs Dante's hand before leading him off.
"What happened?!" Emilia says as she bursts into the room and falls to her knees next to Amora.
"I was hiding from a zombie-"
I cut Amora off
"I got it, get some rest." I say to her before explaining what happened to Emilia.
Emi takes the wet cloth from my hands and finishes cleaning her face off.
Amora closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep as Emi moves to lie down next to her holding her hand.
I walk down the stairs to where Dante and Gabriel hold Mark down as Jenny uses a power tool to drill a screw into marks arm.
Mark screams out in pain as kat hold a bandanna in his mouth to gag him.
"There! LOOK All done!" Jenny rushes out and wraps his arm.
Mark leans over and throws up all over the floor.
"This wouldn't have happened if you didn't climb a roof, so remember this is all your fault." Dante says and gently slaps his cheek before walking away.
Jenny pops some pills into his mouth.
He quivers and shakes in pain
"Now that y'all are done," Mabel says coming into the room
"Will someone tell me where my sons are?" She says as she takes a puff of her cigarette.
She pats at her head that's full of curlers.
"They aren't here?" Dante looks at her confused
"Why would they be here?" She looks equally confused.
"Because they ditched me and ran home!" Dante points at himself then the floor.
"They did what?" She wraps her cardigan around her body
"They got scared and ran, and I couldn't find them so we thought they went home." He explains.
"They would have never made it back here on foot, they are too stupid," she shakes her head
"That means YALL left them over there alone!" She raises her voice.
"ITS NOT OUR FAULT, THEYRE THE ONES WHO RAN!" He yells back.
"I don't care. y'all need to go get them." She huffs
"We are not gonna back there just for them-"
I interrupt him
"We can't just leave them." I rub my forehead
"Well I'm not going again." Dante makes an x with his arms
"Fine, um Gabriel can you come with me?" I turn around to ask him
"I mean, I guess, I'm not a good fighter though." He warns me
"That's still better than Dante." I glare back at Dante and he feigns offended
"Get your stuff, I will be right back." I tell him and run back upstairs to Amora.

I kneel next to her and gently shake her awake
"Hmmm" she opens her eyes
"I'm leaving." I tell her
"Where are you going"
"We need to go back to find the brothers." I explain
She moves to sit up
"No. Lay down." I push her back.
"I'm coming with you." She furrows her eyebrows.
"No your not. I mean it Amora." I draw the line
"You just expect me to lay down while you go back out there alone?" She asks hurt
She's so loyal, I groan. It's so fucking cute.
"Look, I'll be fine." I reassure her with a small smile
"What if you don't come back?"
"If I don't come back in 4 hours, then you can come rescue me." I amuse her and rub the back of her hand.
"What time is it?" She asks squinting at me
"12 pm."
"Deal." She agrees and I pat her head again before standing up
"Don't die please." She says as her body relaxes and she closes her eyes
"Can you make sure she doesn't escape?" I ask Emi as she lays nexts to her.
She nods and salutes me as I turn to walk away.
