V. The Mission's Mishaps

VANCE.

I DIDN'T sign up for this. If I only knew that this mission will lead us to our grave, very soon. I'd definitely disagree with Atalia the moment she proposed this.

How can we defend ourselves against with these four bulky men? I am not underestimating Ryde and Jake, even Jade nor Colt. I don't have any idea what things they are capable of. But these guys can probably knock each one of us out, without even putting so much effort!

I was taken a back when someone behind me, threw a rectangular piece on the floor. With that, the four men got distracted. They mindlessly peek at the piece. I even heard one of them hissed, "Shit!"

A red smoke swallowed the whole diner. I could barely see the periphery. Who the hell throw that? Was that Colt?

Wala akong nagawa kung hindi umatras at magtakip ng bibig at ilong. I knew, doing nothing in the midst of this crap is lame. But I'm not a trained agent or what! I'm just a merely hacker!

As I stayed at the corner, I heard a continuous sound of bone cracks and loud thuds. All I can do right now is to wish that Ryde and Jake knocked them all out.

But suddenly, reality hits me. I must do something, at least. I immediately stood up and went near the table where we put our stuff. Unti-unti na rin nawawala ang usok na bumalot sa loob ng silid. Dahil doon, madali kong nakita ang bag ko. In no time, I hurriedly grabbed the first thing I touched from my bag.

As I turned my back, my eyes got widened.

"Hell no. . ." I said, jaw dropped.

The four men were now lying down on the carpet, unconscious. Ryde and Jake fixed their posture as they heavily caught their breath. Gusot na ang mga suot nilang damit.

"Para saan 'yan?" Colt responded to my reaction.

Agad akong napatingin sa hawak ko. I'm holding a nylon rope in my right hand. My lips parted but I didn't get able to refute her.

"Wanna hang yourself in the middle of this trouble?" she teased me. "What a coward douche," Colt sounded too dismayed. She then, passed by me.

I hardly closed my eyes and hold onto the last string of patience left that I have. Nakaramdam ako ng isang tapik sa balikat at nang imulat ko ang mga mata ko, nakita ko si Jade. She mouthed, "Don't mind her," then gave me a small smile.

Yeah. As if I would still waste an ounce of energy with someone that's too petty like her.

Lumapit ako sa pwesto nila Ryde at Jake. Akmang magtatanong pa lang sana ako kung paano nila napatumba ang mga lalaking iyon nang gano'n kabilis, nang bigla na lang kaming nakarinig nang sunod-sunod na kalampag sa loob ng diner.

Nagkapalitan kami nang tingin, at agad na sinundan ang pinanggalingan ng ingay.

As we went inside the kitchen, a locked door with a rusty chains and padlock bumped into us. Colt immediately grabbed the fire distinguisher from the other side of the door. She then, forcefully hit the chains to destroy it.

Pigil hinginga kaming nagbigayan ng makabuluhang tingin. Bago tuluyang kinalas ni Colt ang kadena mula sa pinto, nagbigay ng isang tango si Ryde kay Colt.

When she opened the door, we didn't expect what's inside. I mean who's inside.

Sa loob ng isang bodega, nagkukumpulan ang mga kababaihang halos wala nang saplot dahil hindi sapat ang mga suot nilang damit para takpan ang mga balat nila.
