I poked my head from behind Lou and I felt him side eye me to behave. I scrunched my nose in response. The ram man had brown fur and opal black horns, his hair wet and blonde like mine before my transformation.in fact he had the face of a man and the arms and torso of one but that was all that was human the rest was fur.

"and why would you be a friend especially to a mortal" the ram man smiled showing off his straight teeth. "you don't seem to belong her, having a mind of your own I see" he said it like a predator "don't be so eager, I'm a mortal not a fool" "I wouldn't dare to be rude potential friends" "even your words carry loopholes and escapes, you wouldn't dare to be rude but you'd dare trick us, harm and play us. I'm far from being convinced"

He laughed "such a treat to find a mortal such as yourself...it makes things more fun" he had a charming seductive nature his voice was like honey, sweet to listen to. "so you really want to help us?" I blurted out of course Lou gave me a dirty look "why of course, you poor souls are clearly lost and alone and that isn't right" "that's so sweet of you, we could really use the..." Lou tightened his grip around my waist and placed his finger on my lip to shush me

"let me do the talking" I nodded my head. "what do you have to gain" the ram man came closer "it would serve me no use to trick you...my master seems to be interested in her. She'd like to make you her student" I was visibly surprised and questioned a student for what. "you have magic something this land hasn't seen in a long time...too long but now that you here there is hope" I felt flattered that a stranger had called me a ray of hope. That I could possible be something special

"are you aware of the saying never make a deal with the likes of your kind?" the ram man laughed "no bargain will be made. Merely me helping you to help this land" "if we were to accept your help we'd become in debt to you" "a debt that would be paid if you only hear what my master has to say. I can give you my word that no harm would come to you or lover " I felt an immediate embarrassment that the ram man thought that I and Lou shared a romantic relationship so I hid my face in Lou's arms. "Give us some space, we'll call you once we've decided" The ram man bowed and he vanished into the shadows

I looked at Lou and thought to myself why hadn't he hadn't he corrected the creature but I didn't speak on it. "what do you think?" "you asking me?" "yes you who else" "well that's a first. What does that big brain of yours think" he sighed "it's a risk either way. We accept we might end up trapped or worse , if we don't accept we'll end up back at square one where we could be lost forever until something scary that isn't a friend comes along and finds us" .I started weighing our options "I say we go with him" "are you sure?" "yes I'm sure, Lou he says that his master wants to teach me, his master could help me. I truly don't know what's going on with me and I know I can't get through this on my own and besides he can help me find Sammy" Lou gave me an odd look then he sighed

He called the ram man and he came "we've decided to accept on the grounds of our own terms" "I'm in no position to accept anything, I am a mere servant but what I can promise you that you'll be returned safely and you will be left alone if you decide not to accept what my master has to offer" it was clear that Lou didn't like that compromise but he still agreed.

"I'll give you some time to get ready. I'll be outside at the entrance waiting " the ram man left us alone. Lou got out of the water first but I stayed. Lou took off his wet clothes and I hid my face in the water "what happened to 'what's a little nudity to you' I assumed that it went both ways" "just get dressed will you" I heard him laugh.

After a while he told me he was finished "well aren't you coming?" "I don't have anything to wear" again he laughed an even louder laugh "what happend to your old cloths?last time I checked I sent you here with some clothes " "they nothing more than rags you can't expect me to wear those" I pointed to the pile of my old clothes while pouting. "well Mon amour there is no other way. Either that or your birthday suit" I raised my eyebrow "did you just call me my love? Oh so that's why you didn't want to be friends"I smiled slyly " come back to earth it's just for character, we better off with that ram guy thinking that we are together " I felt a ping of disappointment "well then mon amour I'm not getting out of this water until you have something for me to wear " "fine then suit yourself " he started leaving

"wait Lou come on don't be like that" he didn't stop walking away until I chased after him. I grabbed his arm and forced him to face me "please" I begged "does it really bother you that much? This is farieland most creatures are naked and I can bet you a dime that they don't care" "well I care" he sighed then he took of his shirt and gave it to me to wear "that's all I can offer" I smiled and took it. I laughed at the size different. I was truly quite small compared to Lou "now we can go" we both started walking

I looked at Lou and thought how funny it was that he started feeling more human. I've been so use to his jerky exterior that I didn't think there was a nice guy there somewhere in his heartless body. Though I wonder what he thinks of me maybe I'll never know
