My stupid alarm clock went off and I hit the dismiss button a couple of times. When I finally succeeded, I opened my eyes and rubbed them before sitting up on the bed. Soon after, I heard a knock on the door. I hummed for the person to enter and was surprised to see Raymond standing there. He smiled at me.

I slowly stood up from the bed and immediately lost balance but did not hit the floor since Raymond saved me. I pouted and looked at him with sleepy eyes.

"Can you carry me downstairs?" I asked and yawned. He nodded slowly and lifted me up, carrying me bridal style. I snuggled into his chest and closed my eyes.

My eyes were still aching from yesterday's crying. I actually cried at night as well after Jake left my room. I felt so exhausted today.

When we reached downstairs, Raymond slowly placed me on one of the couches. He sat near my legs.

"Elle?" he called out.

I opened an eye and looked at him. "Mhm?"

"Uh...I'm leaving today. I have to stay home. My parents want me there. I'm sorry I can't be here," he explained. I slowly nodded and sat up, facing him.

"It's okay, Ray. I understand. Just text or call me when you arrive home." I held his shoulder and smiled. He smiled back and kissed my cheek before standing.

"I'll see you soon, Elena," he bid me goodbye and walked over to Jake who was in the kitchen. They hugged and Raymond left.

I stretched and stood up, feeling a bit energized. I walked to the kitchen and saw Jake making some French toast. He had already set the table for the two of us. I made my way to the fridge and saw what I wanted.

"Jake, what type of juice do you want?" I asked while looking at the options.

"Apple juice for me," he answered. I smiled when I realized that he wanted exactly what I wanted. I pulled out the bottle of apple juice and poured it in both of our glasses then put the bottle back in the fridge.

I walked over to Jake who was almost done with the toast. He looked over at me and kissed the top of my head before turning off the stove and serving the food.

He waited until I sat then he took a seat as well. While eating, I noticed that he was staring at me a lot so I stopped and stared at him as well.

"What's up? Do I have something on my face?" I asked and began wiping the corners of my mouth but he grabbed my hand to stop me. I looked into his eyes.

"There's nothing on your face, Elle. It's just that...you seem lively today. Well, except for your eyes, there are swollen," he said and eyed me for a moment before furrowing his brows. I gulped.
