"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Jake asked as he walked into the room with a tray in his hands. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at me, trying not to smile.

I leaned back into the bed and sighed. I pulled the comforter over me and straightened up a little as I watched him place the food on the bedside table. He ruffled my hair as I glared at him before sitting on the bed.

"How are you doing, my princess?" he asked as I took a bite of the food. I chewed then swallowed.

"I'm doing great, Jake. Well, apart from the headaches, I'm okay," I answered truthfully.

It was true. Ever since I had been released from the hospital, I had been getting really bad headaches. The type that you feel as if your head is banging or when you feel as if your heart is beating inside your head. They were that bad. It was even hard to blink my eyes because all I could feel was pain. But I had been taking my medicine which helped.

I got discharged three days ago and apparently, I'm not supposed to go to school. I mean I am happy about it, at least no more yelling from the teachers and extreme loads of homework but I somehow feel sad. As much as I hate to admit it, I missed school.

Also, unfortunately, I shouldn't take on hard tasks on my own. I was totally confused over why I shouldn't because how does what I do affect my head? But the doctor said that I needed to heal completely before I do any task. He stated that if you have just undergone a surgery, you should stay at home and do nothing to heal faster.

And I was bored.

There were days when Jake would go to school and there were days when Jake would skip school just so he can take care of me and today was one of those days. Honestly, I hated it when he would leave me in the house alone. It was so boring.

I got pulled away from my thoughts when I felt a pair of arms lift me up and the next moment, I was on Jake's shoulder. I groaned and began hitting his back so he would put me down but he wasn't budging. He chuckled when I mumbled curses at him.

"Relax, sweetie. We're just going downstairs," he stated.

"I was perfectly fine on my bed upstairs," I huffed.

"You mean my bed," he pointed out and I just kept quiet.

"Whatever," I mumbled but he seemed to hear it as he shook me lightly. I giggled a little.

Before I knew it, we were already downstairs as he placed me on the couch. I looked up at him and saw as a grin decorated his face. His perfect white teeth coming in view. He walked away and I pouted as I looked at the blank TV screen in front of me.

Just then, the sound of the doorbell resonated in the room. My ears perked up as I kneeled on the couch, watching as Jake opened the door. I gasped once I saw who it was and hid under the throw blanket.
