Adalyn

I hummed taking a sip of my orange juice as I looked out the window in the kitchen. There were thoughts racing through my mind and I felt like I was going to explode.

"Why are you so tense?" Roman's husky voice rumbled as he placed his warm palms on my shoulders, my body immediately relaxing as shocks flowed across the tender skin.

"I don't know." I sighed gently placing my cup down on the marble counter.

"Whatever you're worrying about, it's okay." He mumbled gently kissing my temple.

I thought he could read my mind? Why wasn't he?

I nodded my head and watched as he walked around the counter to the fridge, stretching his arms above his head while he let out a quit yawn.

"Still tired from last night?" I smirked taking a sip from my glass. He turned around and narrowed his eyes playfully at me.

My eyes wandered down his body seeing the countless amount of love bites that littered it. The best part was there was no way he would be able to cover them all up with his clothes. I snickered to myself and looked up into his beautiful crystal eyes as they rolled back into his head and out again, looking at me with a smug grin.

That's when I noticed the dark bruises around his wrists from the belt. I pouted my lips out and he asked me what was wrong. I got up and wandered over to him gently grabbing onto his wrist and kissing the soft skin.

"I'm sorry." I whispered looking up at him.

He gently smiled and shook his head.

"Baby, you have nothing to be sorry for. Those will go away in a few hours with my werewolf healing. Yours, I'm not so sure about." He flinched gently moving my hair away from my neck and seeing the dark purple fingerprints that rested on my pale skin.

He frowned and gently lifted up my shirt, showing more bruises on my hips. He gently traced over them with his fingertips before looking back up at me with sadness filling his eyes.

"Roman don't feel bad. I don't even feel them." I whispered standing on my tippy-toes and kissing his soft lips.

He gently wrapped his arms around my body, bringing me impossibly closer to him.

"I love you." He mumbled against my lips.

I backed up and gently caressed his jaw looking up into his eyes.

"And I love you." I whispered smiling.

"Aww look at the happy couple." Rene and Berlin snickered as they walked into the kitchen.

"Oh Shut up." Roman chuckled, burying his face in my neck and gently inhaling.

They sat down at the counter as Berlin reached forward and grabbed an apple out of the fruit basket that laid in the center. She took a bite as Rene and her began going over paperwork.

We all looked as the door opened again and none other then Evelyn walked in.

"And the bitch came back the very next day..." Rene singed under his breath.

I couldn't help but chuckle as I pulled away from Roman and went to sit next to Berlin at the counter.

"Very funny." She murmured. Her eyes lingered on me before they moved down to my neck and her eyes widened.

I could have sworn I had covered the bruises. I pushed my hair farther forward to make sure I completely covered it. Next her eyes went to Roman and I could see her jaw tense as she saw the multitude of love bites that spanned across his tan skin.

I laughed under my breath, picking up my glass.

"Alpha, you have another meeting with the Blood-Moon pack as they wanted to discuss the opportunity of moving some of their wolves to our pack." Rene sighed standing up.

Roman nodded and looked towards me gently smiling. He walked over and leaned down leaving a kiss on the top of my head.

"Be good." He murmured. I rolled my eyes with a smile, looking up at him.

"Can't make any promises." I whispered.

I wrapped my arms around his neck so that he could reach down and connect our lips.

"Bye baby." He said walking out of the kitchen.

The door closed and the only sound that was heard was the soft crunching from Berlin every time she took a bite from her apple.

"So Adalyn, I couldn't help but notice you and Roman seem to be getting busy." She smirked crossing her arms and leaning against the counter.

Berlin and I furrowed our eyebrows as we looked at one another.

"I don't get how that concerns you?" Berlin fired back.

"Well I was just looking out for her future. I mean I don't know what I would do if I found out I couldn't have babies with my mate." She sighed, turning so that her elbow was against the counter so she could support her head.

I stilled as my breath got caught in my throat. What in the hell did she mean?

I looked over at Berlin to see her with a worried look, biting her lip while gently while looking at her fingers.

"What do you mean?" I whispered. My heart began to pound against my chest as I felt like I was beginning to feel light headed.

"Oh, you didn't know? Humans can't have werewolf babies. Only supernatural can breed with supernatural." She said pouting out her lips.

"I- What? Berlin, is this true?" I asked, tears springing to my eyes.

"I-I'm afraid so Alpha." She whispered.

I stood up and left the kitchen immediately trying to hold back a sob. I couldn't have children with Roman.

And why would he lie to me?

I let out a shaky breath, beginning my climb up the stairs and to our room.

"Oh  Adalyn!" I turned around as Evelyn stood at the bottom of the stairs with a smirk.

"We really must get going soon. Monara wants you back as soon as possible."
