Two Weeks Later...

"So, you and Eric?" Elena teased, as I sat between her and Syd.

The two were mercilessly teasing me about keeping our relationship hidden from the Alvarez family. I wasn't scared to tell them, but I was terrified to find out how Lydia would react when she finds out Eric is no longer single.

"Yes, me and Eric. It's new, and I really thought about just sticking a note on Lydia curtain to let her know. I don't want to be there when she finds out her crush is now unavailable." I sighed, giving into their interrogation

"Have you told, Alex?" Syd wondered, making me sigh even more

Alex was the last person I wanted to tell. Again, I wasn't ashamed of my new relationship with Eric, I just had the underlining fear of the effect it would have on Alex and I.

I know it sounds selfish, but admitting to the fact we both were in new relationships finally separates us as exes who no longer have an interest in each other.

Which wasn't exactly true.

"She doesn't need to tell me. Heard the whole conversation from the kitchen."

The three of us turned to find Alex leaning against the kitchen door way, with a taunting smirk on his face. I could tell there was a bit of sadness as well

"Alex, I was gonna tell you but-" I started, before he held his hand up to stop me

"If only we were closer friends, right?" He asked, before pushing himself off the door frame and heading to his room

"Oh, you are not turning this around on me." I laughed out, chasing after the boy

He walked into his room, and I quickly closed the door behind us, "What the hell was that about?"

"I was just stating the truth. If we were better friends, you would've told me sooner." He shrugged

"That was a two person situation, Alex. I wasn't the only person who said a lot of evil shit when we broke up. I want us to get back to where we were, but I can't if you're gonna hold this against me forever." I admitted, forcing the boy to look at me

He sighed, moving to sit in the edge of his bed and balance his face in his hands, "I didn't mean it, Aria. I hate that we ever got to where we are. I like Eric and I'm glad you're happy. I'm sorry."
