Reki's Route

What could have been Chapter 32

Y/n POV

I was currently laying on my bed, unable to sleep as I had a box of family pictures in between my legs. I opened the box as I flipped it upside down to drop all of the photos I had and the ones I got from my aunt. There were many family pictures and ones from the present where Reki, Langa, Miya, and the others appeared as well. I held up a picture of Reki, Langa, and me.

I was in between the two teens, as we all had big smiles on our faces. You could see the scratches and bandages on Langa's and on my face as well. I remember taking this picture on my phone when Langa and I were still practicing. And I used this picture and drew a chibi version on us which I have on my skateboard. This brought a smile to my lips, I really miss us three together...

I spent a few minutes looking at all my family pictures and pictures I haven't seen before. Like seeing my mom with some guys I don't think I've seen before, but felt like I have met them before or at least seen them.

My thoughts were disrupted when I heard knocking on my window. The hell who's knocking at this hour? Well it's only 11pm at the moment. I carefully moved off the bed and walked towards my curtain window and opened it slightly. I swear if it's a robber I'm going to get my belt or cable wire or something ..

When I opened the curtain, a pounding feeling hit my heart as my eyes got glossy. There stood the familiar red head with a warm smile on his lips outside my window. He seemed to look a lot better which made me bite my lip to prevent a goofy wide smile. I reached over to open the window, letting the cool night breeze come in.

"Hey there Y/n" He said as his amber eyes lit up in happiness. The bright moonlight shined down as I could see the twinkle in those amber eyes of his.

"Hi Reki" I whispered softly as I furrowed my brows and let out smile of relief. I didn't hesitate to wrap my arms sound his shoulders, hugging him tightly catching him off guard.

He let out a small laugh as he hugged me back and felt really warm and secure in his hold. I know it's only been a day since he said he wanted space, this surprised me but I still felt so happy that he's here.

I look up at Reki who's face was a couple inches away from mine as we moved away a bit from our hold. I felt a warm feeling heat up my cheeks at the sudden proximity. I couldn't help but notice slight scratch marks on his face.

"H-how'd you even get up here?" I say with a chuckle as I helped Reki climb inside and placed his board on the floor.

"Well I may or may not have stolen your neighbors ladder" Reki said, scratching his hair a bit, playing it off as if he didn't just steal someone's else's property.

I widened my eyes a bit and let out a amused smile . I went towards my window again and looked down to see the high ladder below my window.

"Wow isn't this cliche" I say with a teasing smile as I closed my window and shut the curtains.

The two of us sat on my bed while I put the photos I had out in the photo box. Reki had caught me up with happened between him and Langa, in which the two reconciled again.

"...And I've realized that I need you both and that I love skating with you guys. I was just too blind with envy to see that, and I do regret pushing you guys away" Reki said with a small smile. "Langa told me he feels happy and that skating is so much better with your best friends. And I agree with that"

I hugged my knees closer to me as I felt really happy that things are okay between them now. Reki was sitting in front of me, his legs sprawled out on my direction.
