Nazneen's POV 💞

"Cheesecakes!"

No reply.

"Ice cream cake!?"

No reply.

"Chocolate Oreo cake?"

I only had to spare Yusrah a glance to show her that I wasn't interested in whatever she was talking about before returning my attention back to my book. She might have been successful in dragging me to her house against my will but that didn't I actually mean that I was willing to have fun.

"Let's go see a new movie then, I'm sure you'll love it" Yusrah nudged scooting closer to me on the bed.

"I don't watch movies" I replied coolly not bothering to look up.

She sighed and slumped on the bed kicking her legs in the air "you're no fun,I swear"

I shrugged, a small rueful smile playing on my lips "Took you long enough to figure that one out"

A ping from her phone made her to raise her head up. At first she ignored it but it beeped again and eventually she picked up. After glancing at the message, she tossed the phone aside not worrying whether it falls or not and groaned exasperatedly in her pillow.

"You'll have to answer whoever the person is so why not now" I told her, flipping to the next page.

"It's Hikmah" she said not raising her head up "I'm supposed to hangout with the girls today but I don't want to anymore"

I mentally cringed. Yusrah was by all means a very social person with a lot of friends, too much that I even lost count. I've met with some of them before and I concluded one thing, she's the opposite of the people she hangs with.

Arrogant.

Spiteful

Fake.

Those are the best words that could describe them but they were still her friends. Even with their bad side,I still noticed that they exceptionally had a soft spot for each other.

"Do I have to go? They can just carry on without me"

She flipped over and lay on her back fiddling with her bracelet. " Plus you're already here and I can't just leave" she sighed and kicked her legs again running her hand on her face "this is so frustrating"

"Do I look as if I care?"

"But we're supposed to have fun, yes?"
Running her hands on the bed in search of her phone "I'm going to text them right now"

I raised an eyebrow "That?"

"That I can't make it" she rolled her eyes "Obviously, you come first"

Collecting the phone from her before she could send it "Quit acting like a child and go meet your friends" I air quoted then thrusted her phone back to her.

"And what about you?I can't just leave you here"

Raising my shoulders in shrug,I clasped the book shut "I never wanted to be here in the first place so you don't have to feel bad"

"Sheesh,no wonder people say you're heartless" Yusrah said feigning hurt. She then stood up from the bed and waltzed into her closet to get dressed.
