Flashback To The Day After The Wedding.

After Khalil and Nazneen had had breakfast and listened to her lay out her conditions, he left her to go to his room. The first thing he noticed was his phone lying on the ground, at the foot if the bed. He bent to pick it up when it started to ring.

Na'ilah

She had been calling nonstop since the night before to give him an earful, accusing him of being a despicable  person he was for dumping her best friend in the worst of way. But she wasn't the only one that called, his parents left a few missed calls while Aaman and Mas'ud left a lot. The one that got his attention was the two missed calls from a private number which meant Abdullah tried to reach him. His head began to throb at the thought of starting to return the calls.

God knows that he wasn't mentally stable for this.

He ran his hands through his hair in frustration as he tried to put his thoughts together. He couldn't let anybody find out about what happened on the night to graduation. It would ruin him and not only bring trouble to the Al-farsi enterprise but also drag everyone that he knows and love down with it and that was something that he couldn't risk.

He didn't say anything about the incident that happened graduation ceremony and when nothing was amiss,he thought that everything was fine again. Back to normal in the very least. He even forgot about the whole incident.

Then his whole family and Mas'ud talked him into going to Damaturu for the wedding against his own personal wish. Aaman who hated being left out ended up tagging along too.

He wouldn't have believed if people came to tell him that it was his name that the Imaam called had it been he arrived at the mosque few minutes later but he heard it with his own ears. When Mas'ud told him to follow the hooded man out since he was looking rather suspicious,he did that without any hesitation with the intention of beating the daylight out of him should the situation come to that.

He froze when he recognized the hooded man to be Abdul. The memories of the past came rushing in and he knew that making the wrong choice meant risking everything single thing he had worked for in his life, not that Abdul even gave him another choice.

'You don't have much of a choice Al-farsi. You did what you wanted in Montreal, now it's my turn'

Abdul's voice kept ringing in his head.

Everything would have just made sense if Khalil was actually guilty of what happened, but he wasn't. The only problem was that nobody in this world was going to believe him and that was what scared the shit out of him.

But on the bright side,he had finally paid off his debt. He no longer owed Abdul anything. He should be happy for that.

But he wasn't.

Instead he felt guilt and anger.

Firstly because he got married to Nazneen because of his mistake in the past. Despite what the masses said about her,he knew otherwise, the time they spent at the waterfall place was evidence to that. She wasn't rude or standoffish, she was just very shy and timid and those were traits that he wasn't used to.
