The drive to Na'ilah's house was a short one and Fauziya was glad about that. She didn't know which one was worse though, her crazy friend trying to sing in a high pitched voice in sync with Ariana Grande's new song, positions or the fact that she filled the air with her endless rambles about Melville.

To others, Fauziya and Nai'ilah were two completely opposite people which wasn't too far from the truth. Nai'ilah was free spirited,a talkative and compromisable whereas Fauziya was cold, hot tempered and domineering, she could do anything to get want she wants without compromise by hook or by crook. Nai'ilah was kind but Fauziya just didn't care. But what they both had in common was the fact that they were both from stinky rich families, they were independent and most definitely their jobs. Their thoughts were similar and they jinx a lot.

Getting home, she was expecting to meet a full house with her parents and at least a brotherwaiting for her arrival at the foyer. Fauziya was the third and only daughter of her parents. The eldest who is now married lived down the street in that same estate while the second son preferred to stay at the penthouse of their father's largest hotel. The youngest was in Harvard studying his butt off.

Heck sometimes, Fauziya questioned her douche of a friend  became a famous model because she grew up to be a tomboy.

They advanced further into the house and then took a turn to the kitchen.

"No grand welcome?" Fauziya voiced out her thoughts then the realization hit her "Don't tell me you didn't inform your family that were you returning back today"

A cheeky grin that displayed her pearl white teeth was all she gave her as they crossed the archway to the kitchen then she slyly snuck up behind her mother who setting the timer for the microwave and her wrapped her hands around her. Scenes like this made Fauziya emotional so she averted her attention elsewhere.

"I missed you so much Umma na" Na'ilah said to her still bewildered mother.

"Why are you here?" Na'ilah's mother, Umma Bashir said looking at Nailah from head to toe checking to see if it was actually her daughter that was standing in front of her and not a ghost.

"Geez Umma, you don't seem to glad to see me" Nailah said playfully furrowing her eyebrows in disdain.

Umma swatted the wrapped arms around her with the rolled magazine she was holding then swatted her head "Why didn't you tell us you were coming back today,I would have prepared a welcome for you" her mother rebuked then turned to Fauziya tearing her daughter's hold on her away.

"Thanks for picking this crazy girl up Fauziya" Na'ilah's mother said pulling her daughter's nose "She didn't even tell us she was coming back today"

"But Umma..." Na'ilah was about to start whine when a glare from her shut her up.

"No problem auntie, someone has to be responsible for the both of us.

"Well when you guys are done, Fauziya you know where to find me" she said feigning jealousy and stormed out off the living room.

Her mother sighed as she watched her retreating figure "I don't even know what to with her anymore, one of these days, she's going to drive me crazy"

Fauziya shrugged "You'll survive her. We all will" she assured her before following Na'ilah's steps to her room.

Na'ilah had already changed from the outfit she had on to Fendi wrap crop top and and shorts. Pulling up the curtains, she finally turned to face Fauziya who had already made her self comfortable on one of the reed chairs close to the glass doors that led to the balcony.
