Chapter 15

It's been 1 month since the event and Leonard is going on a business trip. Apparently he's going to Dubai to discuss the plans of branching out his company over there. He called a family meeting earlier today to tell us the news.

" Family meeting everyone, family meeting in the sitting room!" he shouted while walking up the stairs to our floor(the floor with only his room and mine) and just to be sure I heard him, he knocked and pocked his head into my room saying "Did you hear, family meeting in the sitting room?"

I can assure you that he did the same thing to the kids too and their all mumbling under their breaths right about now. I didn't even answer him, I just kissed my teeth. Too loud I might add.

"Hey! Don't kiss your teeth at me. Why are you even kissing your teeth? This is an important meeting."

"You say that for every family meeting we have and even if it was important your annoying everyone with that damn knocking. It's not like we couldn't hear your loud mouth from down stairs."

"I just wanted to ensure everyone heard me." he said with fake sadness and pouted lips

"Well everyone did." I said
With a irritated look on his face he said "Woman get your ass up and down them stairs now.

I did so sluggishly with a "Yes sir"
"Lively woman. It'll be 2030 by the time you get down stairs." he shouted while clapping his hands at me

"Don't clap your hands at me. I'm going as fast as my lazy body is making me."

Once I was down stairs it was obvious that everyone was waiting on me. "I'm not sorry I'm late. I was in the middle of a game, on.my.day.off. I might add"
The kids started giggling while Leonard only frowns and walks over to stand in the middle of the room with his back facing us.

After sometime with him not saying anything or even turning around, I said "What the hell Leo, you've been standing there not saying anything for, quite sometime now. I thought this was an important family meeting."

I was beginning to become irritated but the kids however were laughing their ass off, clearly understanding what's going on. I was about to say something else, when Dwacia pipped in and said " He's mad at you and won't turn around until you say you're sorry."

"What? Say sorry for what?"
" For being late. You have to say sorry for being late, or else he won't turn around. Trust us, he's done it many times before."

' This is some petty shit.' I thought to myself

I was in disbelief, never in my life would I have thought 'Leonard' of all people Would behave like this.

"This childish mother fucker."
"Hey!" all the kids shouted at me
"What?"
"You said a curse word." replied Deshawn

"oh, sorry I didn't even realize. Your acting like its your first time hearing it, especially from me."
"That doesn't mean we still want to hear them." Dwacia mumbled under her breath thinking I couldn't hear her.

"Mom, would you please just apologize already. I have my friends on video call, they're probably worried I died or something." wined Damon

"ugh fine. I'm sorry that I was late to the meeting." I mumbled unenthusiasticly and with a swift turn and an "it's OK", Leonard began telling us the important news.

"OK, so I'm just gonna get to the point. I'm going on a business trip to Dubai for 3 weeks. Normally I'd send you to stay with your mother, but since Miss. Thompson is here, then your gonna stay....."

"YES!" the kids shouted cutting Leo off

" SOO, that means Miss Thamason is in charge. You listen to her, she's gonna be your temporary guardian. Your schools already know of this change and if you get into any trouble, they'll be calling Miss Thomason as well as me and Miss Thomason can punish you however she likes." they all began winning about how I'm gonna whop their ass and take their electronics away from them.
