I Plea to Thee, Remember Me

I plea to thee
Remember me
O, hold me close to mind.

When gone I am
To distant land,
Please could thee be so kind?

O, see me not
A tiddling tot
That terrors with thy life.

But rather a man
To take thy hand
And ease the pain and strife.

A gentle beast
With thee the least
To fight our troubles away.

O come I will
To the window sill
And watch you rest and lay.

But in the morn
Thou find a scorn
To form across thy lips.

For 'tis not there
Your love so fair
To give the morning kiss.

Yet I plea to thee,
Remember me
O, love me far and wide.

For in the sun
A letter my hun,
Awaits thy precious eyes.
