The Lone Moon

I stand outside in the dead of night.
Watching the wind blow with all it's might.
The clouds sail across as an eerie sight
As the moon glows with the brightest of light.

Clouds surround it but stay away,
For the moon is lonely. It's gone astray.
There are clouds everywhere. flying every day,
But there's only one moon going solo as it may.

For a while, the majestic moon joins the clouds.
It lights up the cluster ever so proud.
But when he's discovered in the crowd,
He becomes the center of a shroud.

He must get away for he needs to breath.
For the clouds hide him like a sword in its sheath.
He shines too greatly from his pearly white teeth.
So he hides them in his mouth, underneath.

He pulls away from the clouds of dark.
He watches the clouds that are angry with spark.
Their flashes are great like the great white shark.
So he lets them leave their Earth burned marks.

So now he's alone all over again.
No one is with him for his soul to mend.
He wants someone to come but the question is when.
But for now he'll remain alone till the end.
