Chapter 8

I don't have a ride home. Not only that, it's raining.

That's the first thing that came into my mind when the class was dismissed. I forgot that my brother's car broke down in the middle of the street earlier.

I fished my phone out of my pocket and dialed Rebecca's number.

"Hello?"

"Rebecca can you pretty please give me a ride home?" I pleaded.

"Ride home? Wh-" she giggled mid air, "stop,"

"What?" I was confused.

She cleared her throat, "oh sorry what? I'm so sorry I didn't hear you."

"Can you give me a ride home?" I bit my lip impatiently.

"Babe, shut the phone." I heard the familiar voice in the backround.

"Sorry Soph, I can't. I have to run some errands. I promise I'll make it up to you,"

I sighed, "okay."

I hung up, walking is the only choice I have. Not to mention our house is shit ass far from here.

I got out of the parking lot with a frown on my face. I stomped down the road and muttered angrily under my breath.

Why does my brother's car have to break down? Why can't Rebecca just drive me home?

I would've sucked it up if there wasn't thunder roaring. I'm soaking wet right now and I almost slipped back there.

"This is the worst day ever," I shouted and looked up at the sky.

I pointed my fingers angrily and tried to cuss but a sneeze came out.

I groaned and used my bag to cover my head.

"Need a ride?"

My head snapped towards the car that appeared out of nowhere.

"What's the catch Jace?" I folded my arms across my chest.

He shrugged, "nothing."

I furrowed my eyebrows, he clearly needs something to make him offer me a ride.

"I don't believe you, I know you want something. So speak up,"

Another clap of lightning flashed before us.

"Like I said I don't need anything. It's your choice if you don't want to get in, the offer's up. Enjoy soaking in the rain." He saluted before rolling the window up.

Damn it.

Before his car could even leave I opened the door and jumped in.

"Jesus Christ! You could've been a little more gentle." He shouted.

"Is wittle Jace upset because I slammed his baby too hard?"

He glared at me for a moment but then smirked after a while.

"Who knew you could crack sexual innuendos," He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

My cheeks flamed up and turned away from him. I faced the window as he chuckled.

"Thanks for giving me a ride," I slammed the door shut.

The rain thankfully stopped.

He got out and leaned against his hood, arms folded across his chest.

I turned around to get in our house before he spoke up.
