𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐘𝐌, 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 up at the ceiling. the gym was filled with foldable chairs with bleachers surrounding them. it was opening night for the drama club, and rue was shitting her pants. not only because they were putting on a show, but because gina was coming tonight. she had begged ej to not tell gina that she had basically paid for the her plane ticket back. why? she didn't know. she had her headphones in her ears as she laid down across the chairs. she raised her eyebrows when she saw someone come into her line of sight. it was miss jenn.
"hi, miss jenn." rue greeted, sitting up from the chairs as she pulled her headphones out.
"hi, sweetie." the drama teacher smiled. "what are you doing here?"
"just trying to take in everything. you know, to enjoy the calm before the storm." rue answered, shrugging her shoulders. "what about you?"
"same." miss jenn nodded.
the sound of the door opening is what made the both of them turn towards it, seeing that ricky was coming in. "sorry! didn't mean to startle you guys."
"ricky! you're really early!" miss jenn pointed out.
