𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌, sitting at her desk so that she could work on a song. her headphones were on and connected to her laptop her head nodding along to the melody. the music was so loud that she didn't even hear her dad banging loudly on her door so that he could come in. mike bowen had opened the door cautiously, making sure that his daughter was decent. even with him standing beside her, she still didn't see that him. this led to him grabbing mr.fuzzy from off her bed and throwing it at the back of her head. rue jumped in her seat, turning to face her mike. when she had seen that it was him and not her brother, she pulled her headphones off her ears ad around her neck.
"yeah, dad?" rue asked, her eyebrows raised as she gave her dad her full attention.
"i said, got a minute?" mike told her.
rue looked at her father's face, her shoulders slumping slightly. "oh, god. what's wrong?"
"nothing's wrong. i just think i'm supposed to say something inspiring about it being the start of your senior year." mike answered.
"d - did you do this to rick?" rue questioned.
"yes, i did." mike nodded.
"all right. lay it on me." rue said, gesturing towards the older bowen.
