Violet was a month now, and she is just the cutest thing ever. I love this tiny human. Even though she drains my energy and Luke's. I don't think Luke, was prepared to take care of a newborn baby.

"You placed it backward." I chuckled as I took off the diaper and put it the right way. "There"

"How many times, does she needs to be changed?" He yawned.

"As much as she needs to." I said as I put her pajama back on. "Now back to sleep."

Except she had other plans.

"Again?" Luke groaned.

Yeah, she decided to poop again. I could see, Luke, growing impatient. Violet, wakes up a lot. Even though she has her own room, I brought the crib to our room and the rocking chair, I feel safer with her here.

"Luke, go to sleep. I'll change her diaper then I have to feed her, and it will take a while. You have a long day tomorrow."

"I need water, I'll be back in a bit."

I just nodded. I changed her diaper and then sat on the rocking chair to feed her.

"Luke, is just tired," She just looked at me with her big blue eyes. "I love you, babygirl."

She smiled at me. I patted on her back for the gasses to come out. Once I was done with that, I changed her diaper again. She fell asleep and I placed her, in her crib. I left the room to search for Luke, since he hasn't come back. He wasn't in the the kitchen, nor the living-room. I checked the backyard and he wasn't there either. I checked the guest room and he was there. Good to know, I can count on you.

...........

The next day, I was woken up by the loudest cry in the world. I heard, Luke groan, when did he came back? I got up immediately and picked her up. I sat with her on the rocking chair and breastfeed her. I glanced at Luke, sleeping peacefully again. Maybe I should leave this place, he already got what he wanted. Maybe that whole speech he gave at the hospital, was part of his plan too.

I burped her and then changed her diaper and clothes. "All fresh." I smiled at her.

Luke, got up and went straight to the bathroom. I sighed. I was better and not suffering when I was at my father's house.

After several minutes, he got out of the bathroom fixing his tie. He did it perfectly. "I'll be busy all day with work, so I might return late."

"Right." I said as I placed, Violet, in the crib. "I'll go make breakfast right now."

"Don't worry, I don't have time for breakfast anyway. I'll grab something on my way to the office." He said as he grabbed his blazer and briefcase.

I just nodded. I followed him to the front door, waiting for a goodbye kiss, but nothing. I peeked through the door and saw him smiling and even laughing at something the neighbor said. She was beautiful, I wonder if Luke and her, are having an affair. I guess, I should move out. Nothing keeping us here anymore, we haven't discussed if he even wants Violet, to acknowledged him as a father figure he can say one thing and then change his mind.

Minutes later, the doorbell rang. I opened it and it was none other than my dad. I'm not sure why he was here, but I needed to see a familiar face. I hugged him like there was no tomorrow. I don't care what he said, I just needed a hug.

"Have you missed me that much?" He chuckled. "I couldn't wait anymore, to see you. I've missed my little girl. And I know I haven't exactly been the best dad in the world but-"

"You were, once upon a time." I sobbed while still hugging him.

"Let's talk." He said as he pulled away and wiped my tears.

I closed the door and went to the living-room. We took a seat and he smiled at me.

"You look different dad. But different good." I smiled back.

"I'm better than a few months ago. The company got back on track, we're making tons of money. I can pay Luke, back, you can be free."

"I'm happy, for you. I hope this second chance also includes, you meeting someone new. Don't stay alone, dad. Mom wouldn't have wanted that."

He chuckled. "No one will ever replace your mom. I had the best. But I did meet someone, couple of months ago. She makes me happy and I already asked her to marry me. She said yes, and the wedding will be in 5 months. I hope you can come."

I smiled at him. "Of course I will dad. I can't wait to meet her."

"She wants to meet you too. And I want to meet my grandchild."

I nodded. I went to the room and she was wide awake. I picked her up and took her to the living room. I sat next to dad and he was stunned.

"She looks exactly like you did, when you were a baby. I'm so happy she looks like you."

I laughed. Dad never liked Owen. He hated him. And after everything, I understood his reasons.

"What's her name?"

"Violet."

He just looked at me and then at Violet. He grabbed her little hand as a few tears fell down his cheeks. "You have a beautiful name." He grabbed her and she laid her head on his chest. "My beautiful, grand-baby."

I smiled. This is an image I never thought I'll see. I honestly don't care what happened between us, that's the past and I'd like to move to the future. I told my dad, that I wouldn't leave Luke, that we love each other. Even though that's a lie. Well, it isn't from me, I do love him, even though he's being a jerk right now. Dad just nodded and dropped subject.
