Chapter 15

-Y/n's pov-

"they're human. no i guess i should call them
former humans. they're the same as the three
from the theater. the structure of their bodies
was forcibly altered by a cursed technique."
shoko explained to us on the phone. "if that was
all, i would have noticed at the start." nanami
said.

"you'll have to ask the culprit about their
cursed technique to explain that. thought there
is evidence that their brain stems were
tampered with, most likely to create a state of
confusion and impaired consciousness. if they
can tamper with the brain, it might be possible
for them to modify someone to be able to use
cursed energy." shoko said, i felt dirty... i killed
a human, that's not something i ever wanted to
do.

"oh right, are itadori and I/n listening?"
shoko asked. "oh, yeah." yuji said while
grabbing my hand snapping me out of my
thoughts. "yeah.." i said. "in other words these
guys died of shock from having their bodies
modified. you didnt kill them. so don't get the
wrong idea about that." she said, trying to make
us feel a bit better. "right..yuji and i said at the same time Muzan appeared next to me and started rubbing my back.

-3rd pov-

Nanami then hung up and looked at the teens.
"Either way, the deaths of those two weigh on
me just as heavily. That said, this thing...has
disgusting taste." He said, gripping the towel, Y/n nodding in agreement.

"This boy can get sincerely angry on another's
behalf. The girl on the other hand, has demons herself but she didn't know they were at all,"Those residuals were a bluff, likely meant to lure us in. Our foe is quite skilled. It looks like this will take more than moderate effort. So let's go all-out." He said, standing up.

Yuji looked up at him and smiled, "Yeah!" He
exclaimed determined.

Unfortunately, it had startled the female causing her to pout.

"Oh, sorry, (Y/n)-chan."

-3rd pov-

"I've organized the reports from our windows
on recent residuals, unnatural deaths, and
disappearances. This should help us narrow
down the culprit's hideout to some extent."
Nanami said, having a map taped on the
chalkboard.

Ijichi standing near the door, and the two young
sorcerers were sitting on the table, (Y/n), who was playing with Muzan's hair while the demon was sitting on the floor in front of her, but Yuji then stood up.

"Aw yeah! Are we storming in?!"

"No, it's still only to some extent. While I
continue investigating this matter, I'd like you
both to handle a different task." He then pinned
a picture up on the map, "This is the boy who
was at the theater, Yoshino Junpei. Apparently,
he goes to the same high school as his victims,
Then turned on the tv, "Based on the
surveillance footage and how he carried
himself, I believed it was unlikely he could be a
curse user. However, if he's related to the victims, that changes things."

"Curse user?"

"An evil jujutsu sorcerer. I've entrusted the
process to Ijichi-kun, so I'd like you three to
investigate Yoshino Junpei."

All three saluted with dotted eyes.

"Sure!" Yuii said.
