Millie sat down next to Jo and Ellen, trying to stop the bleeding from Jo's abdomen. But it seemed impossible. Her abdomen was slices open and her skin was starting to go pale. Ellen was sobbing next to her daughter, trying to find any solution to their situation, but it felt hopeless. Sam, Dean and Carson was trying to get any of the equipment in the store to work so they could get in contact with Bobby. They succeed and tells Bobby the bed news. However, Bobby is fast to recognize the ritual Lucifer is doing by the signs and the Reapers, he is trying to summon Death, the fourth horseman.

Sam and Dean had encountered one of the before, War, when they went to help Rufus on a hunt a couple of months ago.

As the three siblings and Carson try to get a plan together to get Jo out of here. "Guys..." Jo chokes out between her rapid breathing. "Be realistic" she pauses, she gives her mother a sad smile before facing the others again, "I can't move my legs and my guts are being held in by an ace bandage. I'm not going anywhere" she finishes as she looks to her mother once again, tears streming down both their faces. Ellen tried to argue with her daughter but all in vain, Jo have made her decision.

"We can build a bomb, we have everything we need right here" Jo continues. "When you leave, I will detonate the bomb, taking the mutts with me".

"No" Dean's voice is firm, for him, or any of the Winchester siblings, this is not a plan.

"Do you have any other plan? The mutts have your scent, and they will hunt you down" Jo tries to reason with them. Ellen looks at her daughter, not agreeing with her plan either. "This might be your last chance to treat me like an adult, let me do this" Jo pleads with her mother.

"Get to work" Ellen commends the others as she sits with her daughter.

They finish their bomb. Sam and Dean goes to say goodbye to Jo before getting ready to leave. Lastly, Millie sits on her knees in front of Jo, "Sweetest Joanna. I'm so sorry for the pain I've caused you in the past and I wish we had more time together now that we finally were reunited" tears were now streaming down Millie's cheeks. "You are a brave soul and I will love you and treasure you forever in my heart" Millie leant forward and kissed Jo on the forehead before standing up. Carson stood right next to Millie, supporting her up. Ellen slowly sits down next to her daughter, determination clear in her eyes.

"Mom, no" Jo cries out. "Someone has to open the door, baby" Ellen says, "And you can't move" Ellen pauses "I'm not leaving you" she looks at her daughter giving her an reassuring smile.

Both Dean and Millie tries to argue but Ellen tells them to leave, right before they leave the room, Ellen speaks up again "Kick it in the ass. Don't miss".

Just as they are out of reach the abandoned hardware store blows up.

Back at Bobby's house, the room is darkly lit, just like the mood of the four remaining people there. The siblings had told what happened. How they had found Lucifer, shot him with the cult and how he didn't die from it. How he rose again from the ground and finished his ritual, awakening Death. It was all in vain. Jo and Ellen had died for nothing.

That night, Millie was in her assigned room in Bobby's house. She was laying in bed, fully dressed, staring at the ceiling. The sound of angelwing flutter filled the room and there stood Castiel. Millie sat up in bed, staring at the angel in front of her. Castiel had earlier explained how Lucifer had trapped him a ring of holy fire, and therefor he was not there to help them. Millie patted the spot next to her in bed, giving Castiel the permission to sit down next to her. Their blue eyes met each other's before Castiel's eyes travelled to the bandage on Millie's shoulder, which had started to bleed through.

"I have extra bandages over there" Millie pointed over to her dresser with a bag on top. Castiel stood up, grabbed the bandages and sat down next to Millie again. For once, their close proximity didn't make him feel uncomfortable. Castiel started to take off the bandages as careful he could, showing Millie a side of him she had never seen before. Millie eyed Castiel's face as he was focused on the task before him. "Does it hurt?" Cas asked, his soft voice filling the silent room. Millie had assured both her brothers, Bobby and Carson about a hundred times already that she was ok, and that it didn't hurt, it was merely a scratch, she said. But right now, she didn't have the energy to lie, not to Castiel, "a little" she whispered as Cas looked up at her, their eyes meeting again. "I'll be careful" the old bandages were now removed and Castiel started to clean the wounds. Cas was shocked to see how deep the wounds were and even more shocked to see how calm Millie was. From everything Castiel had learnt about humans, this was bound to hurt a lot more than Millie let on. These weren't just scratches; they were deep gashes in her skin. "I do believe these should be stitched up" blood was still flowing freely out of the wound and Castiel felt helpless not being able to heal the wounded girl in front of him.

Castiel had found a wound stitching set in the bag on the dresser and was now getting everything ready to stitch up the wounds on Millie's upper body. "Have you ever done this before?" Millie asked as she noticed the puzzles look on Castiel's face. She had to admit, it was kind of cute. The all-powerful angel Millie had met almost two years ago was now about to stitch her up and he was nervous. "No" Castiel answered, before adding "Do you want me to get Dean?"

"No, I'll teach you, but I don't think I can do it all by myself" Millie said, trying to reassure Cas "It'll be fine, you can do it" she gave him a soft smile, showing him she was ready. She took the needle out of Castiel's arm and showed him how to do it for a couple of stitches before he had to take over. Millie had been stitched up many times before, but this was three big gashes on her arm and she didn't have any sedatives. She had taken a few painkillers and hoped they would help with some of the pain, however, it was not a pleasant feeling. She could feel the needle going through her skin and she tried to steady her breathing.

"Are you ok?" Castiel askes calmy, trying to focus on the task at hand. Their closeness didn't help his situation. The duo was still sitting on Millie's bed, now facing each other. Millie too noticed how close they were and even though she was in pain, a little tingle could be felt all over her body.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You're doing good" Millie again tried to reassure Cas, and he slowly started to get more relaxed as he stitched the girl up.

After finishing the stiches and bandaging the wound, Castiel had to admit he did a good job. Hopefully, Millie agreed with him, and that she did. The girl was surprised at how calm he had stayed and how fast he learned. "Thank you, Castiel" Millie smiled at the angel as he packed away the rest of the med-kit. "You're welcome. You should get some sleep, Millie, it's been a long day".

"Could you stay? Just for a little while longer. I really don't want to be alone right now" Millie was shocked at herself for actually asking, but it was the truth. Being alone now was probably the last thing she wanted right now. Millie laid back down on her bed, making sure there was space for Castiel next to her. After a few minutes of silence, Millie really believed Castiel was going to reject her proposal, but suddenly she felt the bed shift next to her. "Thank you" Millie whispered as she fell asleep.

------------------------------ Authors note ----------------------------------

I'm so sorry. Jo and Ellen's deaths are probably one of the saddest throughout the whole series...

But we did have some Millie and Castiel bonding time. I loved writing that part and I want to get more scenes with them together!
