The queen sits in her bedroom. The new castle had in fact been built, her and the king left alone. To be honest, they mostly ignored each other. Meeting up to discuss plans or eat dinner together, sometimes the king accompanied her on her horse rides. Otherwise they stayed away from each other. The only time the pair was remotely vulnerable was at night, when they stared at the ceiling, laying in the bed they shared. Speaking to each other through the darkness.
Until, one day, they talked. Day and night. Speaking kindly to each other, and going for walks. The queen felt different, she felt happy. She was sweet to him and he was gracious to her.
The queen was quite alright with were she was at, and soon she fell in love.
