Chapter 9

River's P.O.V.

the boys were done with the meet and greets and we were done cleaning. we all piled onto the tour bus and they picked what we were going to do. "let's go ice skating" chris says and everyone agreed.

we all go into alahna and elmer's cars. in alahna's was nick, madi, alahna, laura, and i. the others went with elmer and nate. "so river have you talked to matt yet?" nick asks "no why?" i question him.

"oh he said he was going to talk to you" he said "well he tried, but i didn't listen" i say "why not?" laura asks "because he didn't want to call or text me so why should i talk to him" i say

"i understand that, but he has been pretty different lately" laura says "he got a girlfriend of course he is going to be different" i say "it's not good though he has been a bitch" nick says

"well you talk to him he's your brother" i say "but he's your best friend" he says "so?" i say "river you're just as difficult as matthew" laura says and i laugh. "that's why we get along so well" i say and she laughs.

we soon arrive at the ice skating rink and get out. we go and get our skates. i used to be kind of good at skating, but now not so much. alahna, madi, and i all hold hands trying to keep each other up.

alahna went down and dragged both of us with her. we all laughed and tried to get back up. it didn't work so well we all kept falling down. the triplets came over and helped us get up.

chris helped madi up while nick tried to help alahna and that left matt helping me. he reached his hand out for me to take, but i refused. "nope don't touch me" i say and turn away from him.

"chris help me" i say and he lifts me up. "thanks" i say and grab madi and alahna's hands and skated off. "she really is pissed at you" we all hear chris say to matt from behind us.

"yeah whatever, i'm going to get rylie" matt says and leaves the other two. we laugh and skate on. we actually made a full lap around without falling. nate and the triplets were doing tricks so we tried.

i tried to do a spin, but fell anyway. everyone laughed,
but riley was just rude. "she sucks" she says and i flipped her off. "bitch" i say and nick laughed while dapping me up.

alahna went and fell down, the same with madi but riley didn't say anything rude to them. she just doesn't like me, which i don't know why. i never did anything to her. "nick come here" i say

he skated over to me. "do you know why riley is so mean to me?" i ask "she is nice to everyone else even chris, and i. but i think it's because your so close with matt" he says

"but i would never do anything to ruin their relationship or something it doesn't make any sense" i say "she just knows matt loves you, like a lot. she feels threatened by you" he says

"well she shouldn't, i don't deserve to be brought down by her" i say "and i totally agree, talk to matt about it later" nick says and i nod. he takes my hand and we skate off back to everyone else.

we all decided to quit skating and go to an arcade that was down the street before we all went to eat. we all walk down the street and into the arcade. we get our tokens and start playing.

madi, alahna, and i go play skee-ball. after a couple games we decide to find everyone else. they are all playing basketball against each other. "go nick" i say "i can't i'm going to cry and quit" he says and i laugh.

they finish the game and chris won, nick came in second. "good job bestie" i say we play it a couple more times before we all walk around and find another game to play.

when we are done playing arcade games and cash in all of our tickets that we won. alahna, madi, and i bought matching stuffed animals but in different colors. "let's go to olive garden" chris says

"yes i want some chicken alfredo" i say "hell yeah" chris says dapping me up. we get back in the cars and head to olive garden. nick gets us all a table and we sit. i sit in between madi and riley. the waiter gives us our drinks and leaves.

riley picks up her water and takes a drink. when she goes to sit it down she 'accidentally' pours it on me. it got all over my jeans. "are you kidding me" i say i stand up and leave the table walking out.

"river wait, stop" matt says when he steps in front of me outside. "what matt i don't have time for this shit, i'm done i'm calling my mom" i say and grab out my phone. i start to dial her number but he takes it.

"matt give me my phone now" i say "no" he says and i start walking down the side walk. "riv come on" he says "no matt, i'm done with you and your girlfriend" i say

"i didn't say anything before, but i can't stand it anymore. either you leave her or you don't talk to me anymore, i'm not going to surround myself with someone who does shit like that" i say

"river don't say shit like that" he says "no matt i'm done, i love you so much your my best friend but i won't be surrounding myself with people who let others hurt me" i say

"river stop your going to make me cry" he says and i can see tears start to well in his eyes. "i don't care anymore matt" i say "i know who your going to choose so just go back in there with her" i say

i take my phone back and call my mom. "mom come and get me from olive garden please, i'll explain later" i say "on my way" she says and i hang up. i turn around and he is still there.

"why are you still here?" i ask "i didn't want it to be like this riv" he says "well matt you made it like this, you could tell her to stop and be nice, but you won't" i say

"i don't know why she doesn't like me" i say "she knows that you and i are really close and she is jealous" he says "that doesn't justify why she is rude to me" i say

"matt your my best friend, and if i was yours you wouldn't let her treat me like this so just go" i say "river you are my best friend" he says and a tear falls down his cheek.

seeing him cry automatically makes me tear up. i walk up to him and wipe his tears away. he takes my hands in his and looks me in the eye. "riv you can't leave me, i need you" he says

"who is going to order food for me in the drive thru?" he asks "you have a girlfriend" i say "she doesn't understand me like you do" he says "well matt you have to figure it out" i say and pull away from him.

my mom pulls up a few seconds later. "it was good seeing you matthew, have fun in LA" i say and get in my moms car. "riv don't do this to me" he says before i close the door.  "you're my best friend" he says

"i love you" he says under his breath, but i didn't hear him. i look out the window and he is watching my mom drive away. damn i really just left my best friend. why do i feel so shitty? i explain everything to my mom and she agrees with me.

Nick's P.O.V.

matt walks back in without river. he sits down and his eyes are red, you can tell he has been crying. he gets on his phone and doesn't say anything to anyone. we get our food and eat.

"where is river?" i ask "her mom picked her up" he says still on his phone. when we are finished eating we all head back to the tour bus. alahna, elmer, and nate leave.

i bring matt to the bathroom and try to talk to him. "matt what happened?" i ask "nothing nick, i'm not talking about it" he says and leaves the bathroom without saying another word.
