I dried my hair and put my towel in the dirty basket.

I walked out and hurried towards my room.

I need to make it before curfew.

"What are you doing out, soldier?"

I stopped and saw Ghost walking towards me.

"Sir. I'm just heading to my room after a shower."

"To me it looks like you're out exploring."

"No, sir, of course not, sir!"

I glanced at the door of my room. The lights were turning off. I need to get in there!

"Don't let me catch you snooping around base. For being out past curfew, you're on laundry duty and you'll work out an hour past that of which the others do."

"But sir!"

He gave me a look, daring me to continue.

That's not fair! He held me past my curfew, it's his fault, if he hadn't stopped me, I would have made it!

"Got something you'd like to say, soldier?"

"No sir..."

"Good. Now get in your room. You better not be late for training tomorrow."

"I won't, sir." I tried not to grumble.

"You're dismissed."

I turned and walked into the dark room.

I got into bed and covered my face, trying not to show my frustration to the world.

"Hey, you okay?" Jay whispered.

"Fine."

"I heard everything. He's such a dick for what he did. And he did it on purpose!"

Is she not scared others will hear and snitch?

"I'm going to bed,"

"Goodnight!"

"Goodnight."

When I woke up, I wanted to die.

I hate it here.

I got out and made bed, got dressed, did my hair, and off I went to the field.

Jay smiled at me as we got into line and I nodded at her.

Sergeant Soap and LT Ghost spoke to us.

"I need a volunteer." Soap smiled and I glanced around.

"You!" Ghost pointed at me. "Get up here!"

I didn't volunteer though!?

Soap smiled at me but he seemed kinda... sorry.

Sorry for me?

Why?

"Punch me." Ghost ordered and I was a bit taken aback.

But okay.

I took a jab at him but was flipped and slammed on to my back.

Ow...

"Get up. We're not done here."

I hate it here.

I stood up and hid my wince.

"Thank you Private, you may-"

"No. She'll be our volunteer for the rest of the training."

BRUH, I AINT VOLUNTEERED! I DIDN'T VOLUNTEER FOR SHIT.

"Got a problem with that, Private?"

"No sir!"

KICK!

FLIP!

PUNCH!

CRUNCH!

SLAP!

"AGHHH!" I screamed as Ghost twisted my arm.

I slapped the floor and he let go of me.

I rolled over and held my arm in pain.

God damn!

I was bruised all over now!

"Get up. You look pathetic." Ghost ordered.

"Good job, Private! You put up a good fight! Here let me help you up!" Soap held out a hand for me to take which I did gratefully.

He pulled me to my feet and sent me back in formation.

I was helpless against him.

I couldn't even land a hit.
