I looked up at the chopper flew through the air.

Ghost was explaining what we had to do.

I'm fucking scared.

This isn't practice anymore.

I could die.

I looked at Jay.

We could die.

"This isn't a game. Take this seriously, as if your life depends on it. Because it does." Ghost said.

"Yes sir." We both said and the chopper landed.

"Good luck to you both." The chopper driver gave us thumbs up.

We thanked him and hopped out.

We covered our eyes as the helicopter lifted into the air again.

"Come on. Let's go." Jay said and led the way to the tree line.

We walked through the dense trees and finally made it to the edge.

"There it is. Let's not get shot as we make our way to the building. Actually, let's not get shot at all." Jay said and I nodded.

"Agreed. Be careful, JayBird."

She smiled and fixed the strap of her helmet.

We crawled down the hill and looked through the gun to see off into the distance.

"You go left, I'll go right." She whispered and I nodded.

My heart was thumping out of my chest.

I stood up and hurried behind the building.

I heard talking in a foreign language and I crept closer.

Okay okay okay. There's only two.

You go this.

Don't fuck it up. I pulled out two knives and got ready.

I threw one knife into the eye of the furthest man and jumped on the first man, slitting his neck open.

He dropped and I hurried away.

Check your surroundings.

I swept the building quickly, quietly and carefully.

"Clear." I whispered.

"Clear." Jay whispered and I made my way to another building.

Okay.

I climbed onto a roof and looked down.

That's a lot of people.

"I got 15 hostiles. Two hostages." I whispered and aimed my gun.

"Do you have a clear shot?" She asked.

"Yup. Hostages are 5 feet from the hostiles."

"Take the shot."

I hesitated.

Am I really about to take a life?

The life of multiple people?

They're bad people but-

"YN! Take the damn shot!"

I blinked and then took a deep breath.

I opened fire and watched everyone scream and try to flee.

It was no use.

Soon the only sound was the echo of the gun fire and the crying of the hostages.

Jay ran out and untied them.

"Let's go!" Jay said and I climbed down. "Thank you, thank you!" The male hostages sobbed as his wife walked silently, shaking.

"It's no problem. Let's get you two out of here." Jay smiled and the chopper made its way over.

"Good work you two. Unfortunately, YN, you hesitated momentarily. Good job snapping her out of it, Jay." Price said after we loaded the two freed hostages in.

"I'm sorry, sir." I sighed.

"I'll give you a pass for this being your first time. Don't let it happen again. Someone could have died because of you." Price looked down at me.

I glanced at Ghost who stared at me silently.

"I'm sorry, sir." I said again.

(I'm back but I'm mostly focused on my own book right now. Sorry for disappearing. It's been exactly a month since I updated. But if you like my writing and need something to read, go check out Something My Mind Made Up. I personally like it.)
