Billie and I sit in our tree hideout. The river water ripples downstream and clouds move overhead. I'm pulling at the fur on my arms when Billie says, "Please don't go down this road."
I look at Billie, her gaze intense.
Billie continues, "Keep eating and look after yourself. I worry about you. I love you. But I trust you'll get through this because you're a tough cookie."
