Karina was starting to get a little antsy.
It was nearly the time of the dance, and she hadn't asked Winter out yet, even though they basically behaved like a couple and talked like one too. In fact, Karina had called Winter baby offhandedly in a sentence two days ago, causing the younger to turn redder than a tomato and start stammering.
Karina thought that this was the cutest thing ever, so she'd kissed the girl on the cheek when saying goodbye, causing Winter to latch on her and bury her face in Karina's neck and mumble, "I love you."
They'd hugged for at least five minutes, then pulled apart, and they were so close that Karina could have kissed her.
And she wanted to, so badly.
So badly.
But she didn't.
That was why on Saturday, Karina decided she couldn't wait any longer, and texted Winter.
