MIKAYLA

. . .

"Mikayla, at least, listen to me?"

I don't. I won't even listen to him. Because when I wanted to, he was trying to hide things from me that I could barely tolerate.

Heck! I just can't tolerate this.

My heart burns brutally, twisting inside my chest. I can't stop thinking of the girl which he used to like. Just one question bothers me; does he still have feelings for her? Or they have intensified manifolds?

My rash walk comes to an abrupt halt when he grips my arm from behind and tugs me back.

My jaw ticks when I'm turned to face him. The very next instant forces me to free myself which I do but he holds my other arm and stares down at me with a firm expression on his face.

I let my eyes rove over his face, looking into his warm ocean eyes. So the way his touch is.

"Let go of me," I grit out, ready to bite him anytime if he doesn't let me go.

"I won't," he says, tilting his head to the side so that the thin yet bright enough ray of sun behind him hides behind his head.

I knew that.

I try to break free but he casts all my efforts into nothingness, jerking me even closer. "What's wrong with you?" He scolds, having my arms almost touching his chest. "Why are you behaving like this all of a sudden?"

His touch moves to my elbows which are bent and I'm closer to him than before.

Secretly I wonder if he's playing innocent or if he really doesn't know why I'm reacting this way. Can't he see I don't like the idea of any girl around him? How easily he asks after snatching all my peace at once just by his one answer.

"Because you're hiding that girl's name from me! I told you, didn't I?" I yell in his face, feeling my chest contradicting the very next moment. I don't care.

He frowns, not liking it and looking a bit surprised. "Just because of her name, you're being angry?" He sighs. "Wasn't it you who asked me about my crush?"

"Wow," I blink at him. "So I can't even ask you questions because this is the way you're gonna answer me every time, huh?" I leave him speechless at this. "You know what? Asking you for a mistake that I made!" I scoff.

He groans, "When did I say that?" I don't care about that.

"I wonder if you still have feelings for her." At my sudden assumed accusation, I see his lips parting a little as he stares at me in speechless surprise. "Isn't it? That's why you're hiding her name!"

"You're saying anything." He leaves my elbows, stepping back. He looks genuinely surprised, pushing a hand back his blond locks. "I can't believe you're entertaining such questions in your head. Why would I marry you then?"

"How can I know?" I cry in frustration. "How can I know when you're so good at hiding?"

The sound of a horse neighing inside can be heard. The sky above starts getting darker, highlighting the fact that it's raining nowadays in Spain.

"I don't hide things from you, Mikayla," he goes soft, shrugging his shoulders as if to show that he hasn't even something to prove this statement, instead of claiming the moments he told me everything.

I close my eyes in annoyance. He can't manipulate me like that!?

"You just hid a girl's name from me." I am not letting this topic go this easily.
