"Alec, get over it." Magnus grumbled, stirring some sugar into his coffee. "Be proud of yourself, and I'm fine so stop worrying about me, okay?"

"But what if I had killed you." Alec whined, stretched out across the sofa.

"But you didn't."

"But what if-"

"Oh, stop it! What if this, what if that. It. Didn't. Happen."

"But-"

"No." Alec huffed.

He'd been sulking over it all for three days now and he'd barely moved from his position. Jace visited, then left when he realised Magnus was home. Izzy also visited, but then got kicked out for being a pain. Alec just wanted to sulk and be left alone for a while, which Magnus was not allowing him.

Neither Henry or Lupin had returned, so they were off doing God knows what. Not that Alec particularly cared, Henry creeped him out. Furries.. He thought. "Do you want to walk with me?" Magnus eventually asked, throwing his hands up in frustration when Alec simply shrugged. "Then get your coat, I've decided for you."

"But I don't want to go."

"Too bad you're coming."

"Can't I just do that in bed?"

"Later." Alec couldn't help but laugh and reluctantly got up; Magnus had won.

It hadn't even been ten minutes and Alec had cheered up miraculously, skipping along beside Magnus but whacking his arm repeatedly whenever he tried to do something too extravagant. Like literal skipping, or breaking into song and dancing. But really, who would join in? "You're such an ass." Alec grumbled, bright red.

"Yeah but I'm your ass." Magnus said with grin, "oh don't give me that look." It was Alec's I'm-so-embarrassed-and-pissed-right-now face, giving him a glare from the corner of his eyes.

"Oh I'm giving you the look."

"Not the look."

"Oh yes the look." Magnus tried to whack his head but Alec ducked. "Shadowhunter bitch." He tried again and this time Alec grabbed his arm before he'd even lowered it, "you can't win with me."

"No?"

"No...yeeeAAAAAGH! MAGNUS!" Alec shrieked, jumping away. "How dare you touch me in such ways."

"I win. Tickling always wins."

"That is a crime against humanity."

"Well it's a good thing you're not human."

"Touche.." Alec murmured and hesitantly returned to Magnus' side, holding his hand when he was convinced there would be no more tickling. "You.. Dashingly gorgeous warlock."

"Bitch don't I know it." They both laughed and took a seat on a nearby bench.

Weather was clear, sun high in the sky, the rays bouncing off the ripples in the river. It seemed tranquil, but the river was in the middle of the city, so there were plenty cars honking, driving behind them, people talking as they walked behind or in front of them.. Could've been better.

Though despite all the noise, they were both used to it. It let them be in their own little world, letting the noises fade into background so it was just them, the river, and the occasional 'mute' person to walk past. "Magnus, is there something wrong with me?" Alec asked out of the blue, making Magnus jump back into the noisy reality.

"I'm sure there's plenty wrong with you, babe. But I get the feeling that's not what you mean."

"I got hit with magic.. Usually, that should kill me, like it would've killed you or injured you if you hadn't deflected it. Why am I alive? Why did I get so.. Angry? Was I possessed? Am I still possessed? What if I lash out and really kill you?"

"Alec, you got unlucky. I checked, Lupin checked, and if Lupin can't find anything then trust me unless he's seriously ill then you're absolutely fine. Lupin is the top werewolf, the eldest one, no one is better."

"But why didn't I die.. Why didn't I stay possessed or whatever?"

"It was temporary, Alec, the angel blood got rid of it. You're you now, and you're going to stay that way. Okay? I love you."

Alec sighed, not speaking for a while. "Yeah yeah.. Love you too."

"Awe come on, Allie. That sounded so half-hearted."

"Yeah well maybe I don't feel like kissing and cuddling, maybe I just want to wallow in self pity!"

"You don't have to do that! For god's sake. I mean if you could just.."

"Just what, Magnus!? I'm sorry that I'm not.. 800 odd years old! I haven't had a million and one traumatic events happen to me. I don't.. I don't not get phased by things like this! Sure I fight demons all damn day, but when you find out you killed a warlock with your bare hands! Ripping out his organs! Waking up beside a rotting body with your hands and clothes drenched in their blood? NOT NICE!"

"Wait.. What?"

"I'm not worried about killing you anymore, sure I could but that's not traumatic because you're fine. You have no idea what I feel right now. I don't even feel satisfied; it's great he's dead but I don't feel good about it! I'd rather he died out of my sight, quietly, no... No mess."

"What do you mean you ripped them out?"

"You didn't.. You didn't know?" Alec was breathing heavily not that he'd let his bottled up anger out. "Oh.. Well.. Yeah, there's my story." He shrugged, feeling awkward now.

"Well.. Well in that case, you are completely forgiven for freaking out. Lupin just said you killed the guy and Henry said it was nothing to worry about. Lying pricks..."

"Magnus!"

"Well they are.. Come here." Magnus grabbed Alec and pulled him over so he was sat in his lip. "Now I can hug you properly."

"So now you suddenly don't mind me being paranoid over it?" Alec linked their hands together and held them in his lap, long stopped caring about being in his lap in public.

"Well, yeah." Magnus kissed his neck, "but will you say something honestly this time?"

"Depends what it is."

Magnus smirked. "I love you. Do you love me?"

Alec couldn't help but laugh at that, smacking his thigh. "Of course I love you, you stupid warlock."

A small breeze had picked up so Alec clung to Magnus' for warmth, turning round so he could hide his face in his neck. No words were spoken, they didn't need to.

Magnus thought Alec would be different now, scarred from recent events. Except, that thought was thrown away and Magnus smiled, glad his shadowhunter was still the same. "...Can we go home now?"
