It is that time in the evening
When the dark isn't dark enough.
When only half the city's got their headlights on.$15 on supper isn't a crime
Unless I spend it on McDonald's
Which has happened more times than I'd like to admit.Should I head home and read?
Or should I wait it out 'til about half past nine?
Should I go to the aquarium alone like I've wanted?Standing in the middle platform
My hair is swept by the passing trains, passing people
I can no longer find the wild in me.A kiss is exchanged in front of me.
A child is inconsolable on the stroller.
Her mother is trying so hard to make her stop.
I do not have any business here.I've been lying to everyone
I don't need this anymore
I appreciate your concern, brush away your intrusion
But I'm alright. I'm better than alright.I'm coveted.
