One is at three hundred and eighty second,
The other sat squarely at nine hundredth.
What does it mean?
Nothing.
Tell yourself that.
Convince yourself that praise must be taken
As sparsely as criticism.
Do not engage, do not dwell on it
Do not get stagnant again!
Move on, forward.
That's the plan all along.
But do not forget how you got here.
Don't ignore the lessons you learned
The lengths you took
In making horrible things beautiful.
Always remember your friends
That celebrate with you when things are going well;
That grieve when things aren't;
That are walking with you through it. Right now.
Congratulations today, child.
But don't stop working
For that elusive dream.
The rest is so much brighter.
