I envy people who could do it
tell people they're services are no longer needed
say exactly what they're thinking and defend it
just being able to say no
I'm jealous of people with ambitions
to be better than himself/herself
to fight the odds no matter what
to look forward to every waking morning
how do they ask for help?
when the rise is too high to fall from
when friends are no longer friends
and everyone's eyes are watching
when will you ever learn
to not rest until you make it
to not assume you are entitled to it
to not lie, to yourself most of the time
tell me the truth
like people who can
like those with ambition, with grit
admit your shortcomings, your failures
this time, come clean
and hopefully you'll learn
