St. John's Orphanage did not start off as a very big organization when it opened its doors in the 1920's. A group of missionary priests had actually started a small shelter for the lost and abandoned children. There were so many who would come to their doors and as much as they wanted to help; the priests knew they could only provide temporary shelter and adequate food for these people.

Perhaps it was due to divine providence or due to their generosity. No one could tell for sure. However things began to change when donations from various groups started pouring in. Some were from people who had heard of their good work and selfless acts of kindness towards the children. Others were from individuals who had once tasted the bitterness of life but were fortunate enough to make a change.

With their new found sponsors, the priests were quick to convert their one story house; with just two bedrooms; to a two story building that would provide more room to those in need. They had named it St. John's Orphanage, a place did not just offer a temporary shelter to children but also to the also to abused women and single mothers who had nowhere else to turn to.

With its new resources, St. John now offers good food, education and training for those who would want to make their lives a little better. The home was now open to everyone.  Some who had walked through St. John's open doors had even opt to stay on. They became the new teachers who made it their personal mission to teach the new generation of children and women who would walk into their doors.

Over the years, there had been many who had taken the reigns as director of the orphanage. One of the most notable one is Father Randolph Carver. Father Randolph is an elderly German priest who was both wise and kind. Everyone loves him; especially the children; since the good old priest had never set himself apart from those under his care.  In fact, Father Randolph is quite notorious for playing tricks and pranks. From the way he acts, Father Randolph was more of a lovable child than a man who is already in his early seventies.

The day Lily was set to visit the orphanage, Father Randolph was busy herding a small group of children. He was planning to take them to the playground when he noticed a solitary figure standing by the chapel.

He had immediately recognized the casually dressed young man.

"William!"

The young man turns as he raised one hand in greeting. He smiles as the elderly priest hurried up to him. He even had to steady the man when the old priest had nearly tripped on his feet.

"You really shouldn't be running, Father Randolph." The young man scolds with a smile. "What if you accidentally hit your head. Everyone here will hate me for sure."

Father Randolph laughs at his comment. "No one would dare." He answers, "Especially since you were the one who donated this sizable piece of land for our cause."

"Brother William!"

William turns just in time to catch a small girl as she flings herself into his arms. A small group of children had also swarmed over him as they begged for his undivided attention. Father Randolph chuckles as he watch the man struggles to keep his balance as several of the children made a grab of his legs.

Kind and generous, President William Lee or more popularly known as Lee Wei Tian is a very wealthy man. The Midas of Asia, that was what people had taken to calling him. Well who wouldn't call him that? The man is a genius when it comes to making money. William was one of those few self-made billionaires who started out with nothing. With hard work and a good head for investments, he had amassed a fortune.
