sevenling: the door

230 15 12

standing before the door

wondering, second-guessing,

contemplating

to enter the unknown

feeling anxiety, despair

mixed with sadness

I stand here indecisive

A/N: A sevenling poem is a 7 line poem. The first two stanzas contain an element of three - either objects, statements, details, etc. They can be either connected or contrasting. The second stanza can be connected to the first stanza, but it is not required. The last line ties the first two stanzas together with a punch line, twist, or summary. Traditionally, sevenling poems didn't have titles, but some modern takes on the form have titles such as "sevenling (few words or phrase)" or just a title without the word "sevenling". A google search can help you unearth more information on this form.
