we were once very close

but now oceans apart

strained hellos and goodbyes

wide gaps between phone calls

as the years march on

you have become shadows

that hide well from my heart

things once true are now lies

watching all my hopes fall

since the bond is now gone

the autumn breezes blow

love's last remnants depart

you vanish from my eyes

as we build up our walls

open lines now withdrawn
