sunrise, sunset

31 5 4

the sun rises in the East

bringing forth its' light

taking me out of the dark

that swallowed me whole

I flourish under the warmth

and enjoy the world's treasures

in pearls and the love I find

in your bright eyes

the sun lowers into the West

and I begin to think back

to the dark that enveloped me

until I think of your smile

it is in this moment

I lose my fear of the night

knowing you will be there

when the morning returns
