I had given up the dream
about us lasting for eternity
I had closed that door long ago
but you came waltzing back in
about us lasting for eternity
you waxed some poetic lines
hoping I would reconsider but
I had closed that door long ago
doing whatever I had to do
to move on with my life
until you came waltzing back in
knocking down the walls I built
around my vulnerable heart

The first stanza has four lines and the following three stanza have only three lines, with the first line of each stanza repeating the respective line from the first stanza. In other words, the first line of the second stanza repeats the second line of the first stanza, the first line of the third stanza repeats the third line of the first stanza, and the first line of the fourth stanza repeats the fourth and final line in the first stanza.
