Chapter Ten: Casa De Landon

Landon crossed his arms and stared at us, his gaze piercing through mine and Lewis'.

I glance over at Lewis and he does the same.

Landon taps his foot impatiently. "So, anyone care to explain?"

Lewis and I immediately point our fingers at each other. "He did it!" "She did it'"

I snap my head round to Lewis. "This is your fault!"

"No this is your fault!"

"I didn't know HE was your brother!"

Landon coughs loudly. "He's standing right here."

We both stare back at him. I sink in my seat.

Landon picks up an apple and I quickly duck my head. "What are you doing?"

I sit back up. "Oh I thought you were going to throw it at- never mind."

He rolls his eyes and turns his attention back to Lewis. "Lewis, what have I told you about bringing people to my room?"

"Not to."

"Good. You ever going to do it again?"

Lewis silently shakes his head.

"Have you eaten dinner, buddy?"

He taps his chin and makes a 'hmm' sound. "Do Oreos count?"

"I'll order pizza."

Lewis hugs him. "Okay Lewis, you can leave now. I need to talk to your babysitter. Alone."

I sink in my seat further.

Lewis gives me a thumbs up and leaves the room.

I look up at Landon. "I know I'm hot but there's no need to drool, Gem."

I scoff and watch him sit on the coffee table in front of me.

Did he just put his butt on something that cost more then I'd probably earn in a lifetime.

He stares at me intently making me shift uncomfortably under his gaze.

Geez Louise, does this guy not know what personal space is? Did I just say geez louise? Dammit Landon.

"Stop staring at me."

"And what if I don't."

"I'll- ugh why are you so infuriating!" I whine.

He raises an amused eyebrow. "Aw do I have an effect on you, Gem."

"A gross effect, yes. You're like that annoying itch no one can ever reach."

He rolls his eyes at my response.

"I didn't know you were into books, Zuko."

"There's a lot of things you don't know about me, Gem." He shrugs.

"Can I see it?"

"Sure let me just pull my zipper down." I gasp and shove him. Freak.

He dramatically falls on the floor. "I was talking about your book collection!"

"Sure you were." He winks at me.

"I was!" I shout as I watch him walk up the stairs.
