Sunset

It is so enthralling to look directly into the sun and not care about blinding yourself. Like looking into the eyes of someone who once hurt you. Holding the hand of someone who once slapped you with it. Kissing someone whose mouths you crave so much. The same mouth that gave birth to words of disgust and abomination. Hugging someone so much you could inhale their scents, exhaling the chronic smell of forgiveness. Wearing someone's oversized shirt soaked with sweat from all the sex and blood from all the fights. Falling asleep to the sound of someone's voice. The very voice that uttered goodbye.

You can only look directly into the sun for so long. Your eyes will tire. The sun will go down.
And you will forget.

 And you will forget
