..........'RING'.......'RING'..........
I groan smacking around for the devil box I call an alarm clock. Finally finding it I smack the button on top.
Then I heard a knock and in came my mother. She had her dirty blonde hair down in her natural waves. She was wearing jeans and a cute jean long sleeve top. (Picture above) She's up early.
That only means one thing.....Shopping. Ughhh.

"Good morning baby girl. Get ready." Mom says sitting at the foot of my bed smiling with a sad look in her eyes. Why is she sad?

"Why? Where are we going?" I ask, sitting up.

"Honey, You didn't forget did you?" She asks looking at me like I lost my mind.

"What did I forget?" I ask confused.

"The Mate Ball honey. Its tonight." She says smiling at me slightly sad.
Oh my moon goddess. I forgot.

"Do I have to go?" I ask not really wanting to go.
You see I really don't want a mate. I have to many things to do. I have to train. I have to stay here with Mom, Dad, and especially Kayden. Kayden is my older brother. He is 24 and I'm 18. We have a strong relationship. He's very protective of me. I'm sure he's just thrilled I'm going to go look for my mate. Hint my sarcasm. As well as the fact I've been hurt enough to last a lifetime. I don't need anymore pain.

"Yes honey its important. I'm sure you'll love him when you meet him." My mother said looking at me reassuringly.

"Fine, give me a few minutes." I said sighing.

"Ok honey." She says leaving me to my thoughts while I walk to my closet and get dressed.

'Be excited. We're going to meet our mate soon.' My wolf Raine, told me in my mind.

'Yay!' I snapped at her sarcastically. 'We have more important things than an overprotective male telling us what to do. Keep your wolfy horemones in check.'

She growled in my mind at the thought of something more important than our mate but said nothing. 'Stupid horny wolf' I thought, rolling my eyes.
I finally decide to just wear a pair of dark blue jeans and a Jacksepticeye T-shirt.
I step out of the closet pulling on my converse. I walk down stairs and see my mom and dad sitting at the table drinking coffee and looking over . Kayden was sitting his back to me. I sneak up behind him and whisper in his ear.

"You know, no matter how long you stare at that newspaper it still won't turn into a Playboy magazine."

He turns and smiles at me. "Hey little sis."

I hug him and then go over to the coffee pot. I start getting the cream and sugar out as my mother talks with the rest of us.

"So Blaire, I was thinking we go dress shopping then we'll go get you waxed and your nails done." She says as I add the creamer.

Kayden growls. "Can't she go next year.. Or never." He says jaw clenched.

I giggle to myself. I knew he'd be on my side on this.

"No Kayden she can't, she needs a mate." My mother says.

I snapped at that. "I need a mate?! I don't need nor do I want a mate mother." I snap glaring at her.

"Honey you want one no matter what you think now you'll want one later on." She says calmly back. While I on the other hand. I'm anything but calm.

"Yeah. Key word mom. Later. Can't I find him when I actually want him?" I ask. My wolf was conflicted. She wants our mate but doesn't like being considered dependent on him by any means.

"I'm sorry honey." My mom says sadly.

***********
I flop back on my bed. It was now 5:00pm. We just got home from my 'day out'. I need to get ready but I wouldn't like anything more than to just sleep through the night. I then got up and I got an idea. I could disapear for the night. Just till the balls over. I grabbed a bag and put a spare set of clothes in it and put an old shirt on incase I needed to shift and ripped the shirt. I stuffed a water bottle in it also. I then wrote a note to Kayden and shoved it in his book he was reading in my room yesterday and put it on the next page he'll read. I then opened my window and jumped. I landed on my feet luckily. My ankles kind of hurt but I started running anyway.
