Sorry I couldn't update last week! I had an essay due that took most of the weekend.

Danny's POV

I quickly placed back my cloak, changed back human and run out of the door (literally), hoping no one saw me.

I use a bit of my powers to make me get there faster. I reach the front of the door and see Dr. Quill. Something particularly off about him was his clothes. They weren't his usual white doctor's coat, brown khakis, and polished black shoes. It was just a regular green shirt, jeans, and, well, black shoes.

"So, what did you want Dr. Quill?" I asked, scratching the back of my head in the process.

"Please, call me Penn outside of work. It's my name." he replied. 'Penn? His name is Penn Quill?' I tried to hide laughter, but a small snort passes me.

"Laugh it up. It's not like I haven't been made fun of it before." Oh man, was that rude?

"Oh, um, sorry." I said, trying to cover up my rudeness. This was my boss! I can't be rude to him!

Dr. Qui- I mean, Penn gave a small chuckle. "It's okay. But back to the task at hand, I have something to say. I'm planning on getting a child in a few months!" Wha???

"Um, Penn. I don't have a single clue on why your telling me this, I don't need to know what your wife and you are doing. And your, no offense, a little old, and I'm sure that the long and grueling proce-" I said, Penn cutting me off. I will never get used to calling him Penn. It sounds so... foreign to me.

"Oh, I should rephrase that. I'm adopting a child. And I'm not that old." He said, stretching 'adopting'.

"Well that makes more sense. But why are ya telling me this?" Aster is seriously rubbing off on me.

"I guess I want you to be sorta like a babysitter/ godfather to the child. With you parents' approval of course. I'll need to talk to them. Aren't you almost an adult also? What are you, eighteen? Nineteen? I'm sure your responsible enough." Well crap. I didn't tell him that I didn't have parents... This will surely bite me in my ghostly tail later on.

"Well, umm, you can't talk to them because their on... a business trip! Yeah, they go to meetings all the time. If you want I'll leave you a message." I said, trying to hide my slight nervous. I'd have to say, my lying has improved though out the years. Not something I'm really proud of, but very useful. But still not that good for a handful of people to notice.

"Okay, that's fine. But are you willing to be a babysitter/godfather? I don't trust most people to take care of something as precious as a kid. But I'm trusting you." Penn said, really touching me heart. As you know, I had a lot of bad experiences with the living, so hearing this come out of his mouth really touched me.

"O-of course! I won't let you down!" I stutter out. How could I say no to a man who's entrusting me with a child?

"Great! Now I'm going home. Have a great day Danny!" Penn said, walking away.

I don't know why, but I realized how sketchy that looked. Two guys in the night having a conversation in front of a clinic.  I had these thoughts as I walk back to my apartment.

I was still trying to wrap my head around the situation. So Penn wants me to babysit and godfather a kid which he's planning to get in a few months. But isn't a godfather's responsibility is to take care of the kid if something was ever to go wrong with the parents?

I reach my apartment, actually using the door. I decided not to sleep due to the earlier incident. So decided to work on some of my own inventions. The Phantom Fluid-- what I decided to call my ecto-infused blood-- could be used for something else than a, you know, a weapon. Using a smaller dosage may due the trick.

Third person POV

Somewhere in a cave...

"Robin, I need you to investigate the radioactive energy coming from this specific apartment." Batman told his protege, showing a map of the apartment building on the Bat Computer.

"Would do you mean 'radioactive energy', Bats?" Richard Grayson, aka Robin, asked.

"For the past few days, this apartment has been giving strange energy signals. I need you to investigate why." Batman said in his usual monotone voice.

"Why can't you do it, Bruce?" Robin complained.

"Because I'm investigating someone myself. A slightly notorious vandalist known a 'Ghosty'. For a while, he's been doing nothing but graffiti . But word from Gordan says that he, just terrorized two cops. They said that they remember him saying one distinct thing, "I'm Phantom [1]" We couldn't get anything out of them after that. My guess is, is that 'Phantom' was fed up with the ridiculous name and decided to 'correct' them."

Okay, fair point. So who lives in the apartment I'm supposed to spy on." Robin asked.

Batman replied "In the database, it says his name is Daniel Fenton."

________________________________________________

[1] I feel like I should explain this. Basically the officers misheard Danny. Making them think he said, "I'm Phantom."

Some of you may notice my pathetic attempt to make a cover. I sincerely apologize on how sucky it looks.

By the way, if any of you are confused, the difference with Danny's Blood and ectoplasm is that anny's blood is more powered. Ectoplasm powers things made to be weapons. While Danny's blood can turn a regular toy into a weapon. Just for clarification.

<<Bat Fact>>

In an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, it shows him have a photon sword in his belt.
