Before long, I found myself back at Virgil's cave.

"Where is your partner?"

"He's working on some stuff for me back at Sanctuary."

He nodded in understanding before continuing the conversation.

"Did you get the chip?"

I looked proud.

"Yes, we did. Tom already uncoded it."

Virgil nodded.

"Excellent. Now, the Relay. You will have to build it yourself. I did my best to draw the plans, but my motor skills aren't what they used to be."

He handed me a paper with ink scrawled all over it. I thanked him.

"I will put this to good use. And I haven't forgotten about your cure. I will get it for you."

Virgil looked relieved.

"Thank you. Good luck on your mission."

I waved goodbye to him before leaving his cave and fast traveling back to Sanctuary.

...

I looked over the plans in my room, translating it to neater writing on a separate paper. Once I had finished, I went to the balcony to find Sturges. I saw a figure wearing utility coveralls below, so called down to him.

"Sturges! I need you to clear out the northern lot, and gather supplies to the lot."

He waved and walked off.

I headed downstairs to work on fixing up my weapons. I stood at the bench with a variety of gun pieces sprawled across the surface. I lost track of the time while working on upgrades.

When I finished, I decided to take a walk around Sanctuary. I greeted my friends as I walked around. I saw Sturges talking to Preston near the bridge, so I headed that way. When I got to them, Sturges greeted me politely and Preston nodded to me.

"General."

"Hey, General."

"Hello. Sturges, do you need help with the lot?"

He looked confused at me.

"What about the lot?"

"Well, I was hoping you could clear it out for me. And I asked about gathering some electrical equipment?"

Sturges still looked confused, but nodded.

"I'll get right on that, General.

I gave him a smile and walked away. I decided to get a head start on clearing the lot, so I made my way there.

When I got there, I found it was already halfway cleared through, with piles of debris along one side. Now I was confused. Until I saw someone scooping debris wearing utility coveralls. I walked over, and was greeted with an enthusiastic voice.

"Hey there, boss! Looking pretty good so far, huh?"

"Deacon? You did all this?"

"Yep. You asked me to, and, well, your wish is my strong recommendation."

I laughed.

"I thought you were Sturges! So when I was up on the balcony, you were the one I was talking to. Ah, poor Sturges. He had no idea what I was talking about."

Deacon started to chuckle.

"I'm sure he'll be happy not to have to do all of this himself."

I nodded, still smiling.

"Very true. Now come on, you need a shower to wipe off all that sweat and dirt."

I took his grubby hand and pulled him to the main house to take a shower. While he was getting cleaned off, I found Sturges and handed him the blueprints.

"Can you please get all the pieces for this, then we can get it built tomorrow."

"No problem, General. I'll get right to it."

"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow then."

I walked back to the main house to help prepare dinner for the group of us.
