Toby smiled at me, winked, and put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a ring box.
"Toby, what is this?" I asked
"Open it,"he said
I opened the ring box and inside was in infinity promise ring.
"Awe, Toby this promise ring is beautiful!" I said slipping it onto my finger
"I'm glad you like it, when I asked you out you said you wanted someone you can trust and someone that won't leave you when things get tough, and I got this to show you, that I really want us and I hope that by you putting the ring on, that you feel the same." said Toby
"I really want us to work and I feel like you are someone I would want Jaycee to look up to." I said
"I would love that, but how would Jaycee's dad handle that?" asked Toby
"Jaycee's father's story is very long and I want you to know what you are walking into, and I need this to be between us, and only us." I said
"Things between us are getting very real and everything we talk about is between us unless stated otherwise." Toby said
"Okay well there is this guy named Brody Farris," I didn't even get to finish before
"That's my dad's work partner, well my dad's side business, he is also an investor with Brody's dad, and they invest in needy businesses." said Toby
"Well Brody and I met during my partying phase and well I became pregnant with Jaycee. He had played me and well when I told him about Jaycee he said he would give me $900 to leave him and his family out of it, and if I told he would ruin me, so I agreed." I said tearing up
Toby hugged me
"I don't see how anyone couldn't love Jaycee, she is perfect, and I gave him everything." I said crying
"Teralyn, I will always be here for you and Jaycee and even your father, who is a great man." Toby said
"I just need you." I said
"And....I need you." he said
We sat together during dinner and I poured my heart out to him about my mom and he poured his heart out to me about his sister. I may, just maybe, be falling in love with him.
