The day after I had gotten home from Indiana, we were all gathered in the gym for a pep rally to show our support for our football team going to sectionals. The cheerleaders were doing a joint routine with the dance team, which was something I had never seen before. Davonte climbed his way up to where Drake and I were.

"What's goin' on, Wynter?" Davonte said.

"Hey Davonte," I replied.

Davonte tapped me on the shoulder, "I just remembered, bro. We got a problem. It's a really big problem."

I looked at Davonte confused, then he explained: "Apparently, Cameron's accusing you of robbing him 2 days before break. I'm pretty sure nobody's believing him, but bro, if Davis finds out...you're fucked." I rolled my eyes, "Wait until he gets up here."

"We probably shouldn't have robbed him," Drake whispered to me, out of Davonte's ear shot.

I sighed, "Drake, calm down. He's just trying to put a target on our backs. The only evidence Davis would have that I robbed him was that my phone was gone from his pocket, so he's gonna fuck himself over with his accusation."

Davonte tapped my shoulder, "Heads up, assholes headed up here."

I was still emotionally drained from Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't want to deal with Cameron today, or tomorrow, or ever. The 3 of them wore angry looks. Of course, he'd have to bring Dex and Asia with him. Cameron leaned over Davonte to speak to me. He looked at me darkly. I returned the same gesture.

"You're in Davonte's way, White," I said.

"I don't give a fuck about Davonte. Wynter, you've fucked up big time. Why'd you rob me?" Cameron asked.

I raised my eyebrow and played dumb, "Why are you accusing me of that? Out of the thousands of people here at Phoenix, you gotta go after me."

"You're the only person here I got beef with. Answer my damn question," Cameron growled.

This kid was setting himself up to fail. I was one question away from exposing him. I sighed and rolled my eyes, "How do you know I "robbed" you?"

I could see a bead of sweat form on his forehead. He was as dumb as I thought he was, as he said: "Well, your phone was gone from my pocket."

I laughed so hard I thought I'd throw up on the person in front of me. After I wiped the tears from my eyes, I looked back at him, "You're really stupid, aren't you? You just admitted to me that you stole my phone. So, do me, Drake and Davonte a favor, and fuck off."

Cameron inhaled sharply and threw his right shoulder back for a punch. I grabbed his fist with my left hand and pushed it away. I blocked another punch from his left hand. Unfortunately, his punch ended up hitting Davonte in the face. He put his hand on his face, then stood up, towering over Cameron. Suddenly, Davonte grabbed him by his right shoulder and threw him down the bleacher stairs. I gasped and held back laughter as I watched Cameron roll down the stairs and land with a loud thud. Drake and I went downstairs to stop Davonte from hurting Cameron even further.

"Davonte, stop!" I screamed.

I saw a fist come in my peripheral and I jerked my head backwards as fast as I could. Dex had tried to come in with a sucker punch. I wasn't in the mood to get suspended or get in a fight. As Dex went in for another hit, I moved to the left and buckled his knees. I must've hit it good because he was stumbling all over the place as he was trying to get back over to me. Jason and Natalia soon ran downstairs. He grabbed Asia and Natalia grabbed Dex.
